Alright, I did something stupid. I tried the twrp installer without having a backup of the stock recovery.

How do I get it back? I can't seem to sideload through twrp at all.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. I had been trying to flash a slightly higher firmware through fastboot and it wasn't working. Tracking down a copy of the exact firmware version the phone was on and then flashing worked.

3.3.1-1 freeze on boot

same thing with me:

twrp 3.3.1-1-beckham freezes on splash screen. previous version 3.3.1-0 works fine. Is there any zip-installer-file for previous version available? otherwise its impossible to install custom rom gapps as gapps version check fails during installation. this only works with twrp installed.

Thanks for any advice!

If you flash firmware, install a custom ROM (Resurrection Remix in my case), boot it, reboot into twrp with fastboot then install the img will work. I've tried with with the last version, it works, I can boot it but mtp is not working. So I use "twrp-3.3.1-v4-z3p-SEPT.img" but I don't know from where I've got the file.

new twrp update !! 3.4.0-0
the zip file can now be permanently flashed on our moto z3 play devices !!! Download the last twrp file for moto z3 play bootie the image and from the twrp menu you simply flash the .zip file (it must be on the micro sd) and voila !!! regards!
Hi Yayo, thanks for the notification !!!

I actually tried this new version and it works !, The TWRP image takes a long time to start the first time (it stays on the logo) and I thought it didn't work, but I just needed a little patience, so I waited and it started without problem, after that send the zip file and install everything as it should.

Thank you so much !

How long roughly did you have to wait before it went into TWRP the first time?

Mine wouldnt get past the boot logo of twrp on either 3.4.0-0 or 3.4.0-1. Waited 2 hrs on each and it just sat there.

I had the zip on the root directory in each case so no idea what the issue could be.

Phone still restarts fine and i can boot into twrp from fastboot so its not a huge issue i suppose. Just would have been nice to have it permanently installed.

Hola buenas noches, yo intento meter el tero.img a través de fastboot boot y del fastboot flashing y en ambos casos se queda congelada el comando y no avanza nada, espero me puedan ayudar y si ya desbloquie el bootloader.
