klabit87 you don't happen to know why I am getting error message in TWRP ["Error opening: ' /dev/block/sdd3' (Read-only file system).
I tried different version of TWRP but they all give this message when only restoring EFS backup other selected backups work fine.

Was TWRP ever tested for EFS backup ?

I've used this before on one ui 2.1. If I were to update to 2.5, do I need to completely boot into the one ui 2.5 or can I flash the update then TWRP, kernel, encryption fix then boot?

I would first update TWRP and then flash the others.
TWRP is independent from the ROM. It is a recovery.
