MTP Do not work on official version , with TWRP-3.2.3-0810-XIAOMI6X-CN-wzsx150-fastboot everything is working fine. Tested on A2 converted to 6X.

that version of TWRP does work flawlessly on 9.5.15.0, it can decrypt data straight out of the box!
but sadly it works flawlessly only on that exact miui rom version.
I've tried on:
9.5.7.0 unable to decrypt data
9.5.11.0 unable to decrypt data
now sadly I'm on 10.0.2.0 it's unable to decrypt data, and I'm on anti 4.

I need TWRP for wiping cache + dalvik, which can't be done by this official version of TWRP nor the TWRP you've mentioned (I always need to re-format the data partition every time I boot to TWRP).

but that unofficial version of TWRP does point out something; even on stock miui, data can be unencrypted!

3.2.3-1 - My experiences:

1. MPT not working.
2. Backup failed one time. Second backup attempt I created a successful backup, then I restored the created backup, I ended up with boot hang 10+ minutes when booting the backup/restored rom.
3. Wiped all partitions, tried to install any rom = boot hang.

Reverted to 3.2.3-0 all worked again ... avoid 3.2.3-1.

I'm currently using 3.2.3.1 to switching rom from xiaomi.eu -> carbonrom -> and back to xiaomi.eu again (wiping system, data, cache, flashing stock vendor.img, etc. in between).
I had no issue at all.
but instead MTP, I'm using usb_otg

For some reason mtp works for me with 3.2.3-1, used to have 3.2.3-0 but mtp didn't work, then switched to the newer version and it works

Just tested... I'm on 3.3.1.0, USB OTG working fine.

Just that my encrypted /data is not able to decrypt.

Sent from my Mi MIX 2 using XDA Labs

guess I need to fix my issue.
thanks for clarifying it!

as for the data encryption,
I had no luck as well (with every single official version of TWRP).
I need to format the data partition once, before I can access it.

OK, at least I can encrypt. Been running without encryption for months.

So recently my rom maintainer switched from Pie being installed as /system and instead switched to SAR (system-as-root) which makes it /system/system

I've noticed official TWRP still mounts it as /system while my maintainers unofficial TWRP build mounts it as /system_root/system

but i wanted to know if the official TWRP supports SAR ?
(Screenshot is rom maintainers unofficial TWRP)
