To set a custom App Drawer Background​

Step 1

Go to you favourite file manager (you can also do this on you computer)



ES File Explorer in my case




Step 2

Create a new folder ( mine is called Venom Pics)






Step 3

Copy the downloaded Pictures to this folder







Step 4

Go to Venom Tweaks and choose Sense at the bottom bar

Step 5

Scroll down to App Drawer and choose Use Background Image






Step 6

Then choose the Album and in it the folder you created (in my case Venom Pics)






Step 7

Choose one of your pictures






Step 8

Check the right upper corner of the Venom Tweaks
If there is something in white press it -> the phone will do a hot reboot

Finish - after that you have a new Background for your App Drawer like mine

To set a custom Notification Area Background​

Follow the guide for the App drawer above until Step 3 (inclusive)




Step 4

Go to Venom Tweaks and choose Status at the bottom bar

Step 5

Scroll down to Notification Pulldown Tweaks and choose Use Background Image



After that you can follow the Guide above again
Continue with Step 6

Step 4

Go to Venom Tweaks and choose Status at the bottom bar

Step 5

Scroll down to Status Bar Tweaks and choose Custom Statusbar Logo



After that you can follow the Guide above again
Continue with Step 6

The best is , to create under "Pictures" on the sd Card two folders - Background JPG and Background PNG. For notification you need a PNG, for app drawer a jpg. They will later appear in the menu, if you use the tweak. Otherwise it´s too strange to differ between the pics, if you wanna use the same pic for notifications and app drawer. The effect on app drawer you see after you restarted your device.

Oh right forgot a little thing After applying in the right upper corner of the Pkmn tweaks appears a Boot sign tap it and the Phone does a soft reboot after that it should have worked

I did that too, it's just that button on the top right-hand corner. In fact for the pulldown notification, using png format, my background is totally transparent showing my main screen wallpaper only. Anything else, please?

That's strange, cause for me it works well

Try to change the picture to .png perhaps this will work

It still is the same, Mate. I actually realized these background things never worked for me under PKMN tweaks since. I even created separate Background JPG & PNG folders under Pictures of my SD card.

Even with png or jpg, my app drawer background is still black.

Can you check if you got a file in data/system called background_appdrawer.jpg

Also the size of your picture is important. If it´s much over 720x1280 i had a black backgound too. Resize the private pictures to this format and there will be no problem, i think.

I agree with you, because i tried the stock wallpapers that came with the rom it didn't work, kept being black, then i downloaded from zedge and then it worked, so it is all about the size of the wallpaper being used

Yes, Jan, the file exists in the folder directory. It was finally due to the image size that was way too big and had to resize it down to 720X1280. Voila, it worked! Cheers!
