Sooo has LineageOS development for S4 been discontinued? First no updates for couple of months and now whole download page seems to have disappeared...

All builds of 14.1 have been discontinued for all devices that have not reached official 15.1 or 16.0 status.

The jf maintainers have indicated openness to perhaps providing some unofficial support going forward, but there will be nothing more official.

Did you not read the post immediately before yours?

This rom is no more, it has passed away, it is an ex-rom.
It is bereft of life.
It's dead.

Someone may put the last officially built version somewhere to download for posterity. Or maybe not.

ok :( i wanted to install a rom lineage 15 or better 16 pie but only an official by personal choice, but there is none at the moment for my i9505 :crying: i pray and i hope to see one someday :rolleyes:

Dear Side,

Since the 14.1 is expired, it is possible to load the 15 without formatting everything?
thanks for your nice work on 14.1 that still perfectly works on my S4
and thanks for any future suggestion

I decided to install unofficial 15.1. It was piece of cake with TWRP recovery, I wiped all partitions except internal and external storage and flashed LOS15.1+Opengapps 8.1 pico. After rebooting it automatically installed most of my previous apps and even restored my email settings. All my personal files were untouched. Little tinkering with settings here and there and everything was fine again.

One thing I miss from 14.1 is shutdown menu (hold power button) where I could quickly select silent mode and it's no longer in 15.1. Only way to change to silent mode "quick" is keep pressing vol- as far as I know but it isn't as quick.

Thank you Tombab for your suggestion,
indeed it is very boring to reinstall everything from the beginning when everything is working fine on LOS14.1
I hope clockworkmod do the same as TWRP.

I read around some concerns but what about camera and battery life?
fine as on LOS14.1?

I was hesitating for a moment also because 14.1 was ok but I guess I just need to feel safe with up-to-date security fixes. I haven't noticed any problems regarding camera or battery life but I've only had 15.1 for few days. I have extended battery and Gsam battery monitor actually shows better average screen-on-time with 15.1 (~5 hours) compared to 14.1 (~4.5 hours) but I suppose that number will come down with time so I'd say battery life is about the same.

Hey, so, apparently this is no longer being mantained. Unfortunately I need a flash file of the last version published on LOS website, and I can't get it anywhere. Can anyone help me?

The GPS takes forever to lock with the last LineageOS (2019/2) and this happens to my two S4. I wonder if there's any fix, like tweaking the system files? Or anyone got any old copies like 2018/12 or 2018/11? Thanks in advance.

    Installation
    Upgrading from CyanogenMod/unofficial LineageOS without wiping

    • Download the EXPERIMENTAL and NIGHTLY builds using the download link below
    • Install the EXPERIMENTAL build, without wiping anything.
    • Reboot into Android
    • Reboot back into recovery
    • Install the NIGHTLY build, without wiping anything.
    • Enjoy LineageOS!



    First time LineageOS 14.1 installation on your Galaxy S IV:

    • Flash a custom recovery via Heimdall or Odin
    • Push GApps (arm) and the Lineage 14.1 zip to your device
    • Boot into Recovery
    • Perform factory reset
    • Flash the Lineage 14.1 zip from SD card
    • Flash GApps from SD card
    • Reboot


    Upgrading from earlier version of LineageOS:
    • Update your recovery - Lineage Recovery will be done automatically, TWRP can be downloaded from here (NOTE: you need 3.0.2-2 or higher to automatically install updates in Lineage 14.1)
    • Push the new Lineage 14.1 zip to your SD card
    • Boot into Recovery
    • Flash the Lineage 14.1 zip from SD card
    • Flash the most recent GApps for 7.1 if you are upgrading from earlier android version
    • Reboot
