Maverick, how is the battery of the Lumia compared to the S2?
That is my only doubt regarding this Phone.

Well I have only had it 24hrs now, after a full charge I took it off charge this morning about 9, been using it for bits today about same as S2, Nokia is on 34% left and S2 is on 78% :-/

I will add tho my S2 is running Lite'ning ROM with Speedmod kernel!

I hope the battery increases on the Lumia as it's a slick OS and a lovely screen! :D

We'll see in few days if it's better !

Got one today, didn't pay for it but i think i would have tbh, it's a nice device, i've slated Nokia and w7 for such a long time and now that i have spent time with one it really is growing on me, the camera is ok, not as good as some of the others on the market but it's ok.

The screen is vivid and crisp, such a clear display, it runs silky smooth and the menu system and social integration make using it a breeze. Some of the features work really well, like the facebook pics, it just rips them off the net like they're already on your device.

The only thing i don't like is the speaker (which is lame by the way) and the lack of a file manager, i mean angry birds is £2.99 ??? wtf.

Even fotmob is £2.

Overall i think it's quite nice, i wouldn't stop using my Sensation any time soon but it will get a good run.

Hello maverick,

Got some news about the battery? Still as bad as the first charge? Or is it near the same as the S2 now?? Ok it has +- 200mah less than the S2, but the screen is smaller :D

So I hope you have some good news :)

Thx

Well I've been not using it to see what battery life is like in standby, it seems to of improved, so far 51% after 7 hours since off charge.
But I know as soon as I start messing with it, it will drop.

Hopefully it will get better :)

I must say, I haven't had battery life as good as I do on here since my old blackjack. It's rather shocking really, especially since I use everything WP7 has to offer. I still cleared 24 hours with 4 hours of one of the most graphic-intensive games on wp7

Kinda contradicts what user above said. We need third opinion now lol.

Third opinion would be, the battery rocks.

Compared to my Omnia 7, the Lumia has about 3x the battery displaying it'll last for 1 day and 20 hours after a full charge in Battery Saver menu.

I got through what would normally rape the omnia battery (1 hour music, 1 hour gaming, standby with wifi on for about 11 hours) and I still had around 65% battery left.

Wouldn't expect less from Nokia.

The person reporting bad battery life may just be bad luck, apparently they're releasing an update which should fix some battery issues.

Well I'm glad your receiving better battery life!

It is not just me, 3 of my colleagues who have the phone are receiving poor battery life too.

I'm hoping for a software update soon to fix this.

the update that for voicmail and outlook is reported to address a few battery bugs maybe that will help. I only had it for hours befor ei got the update though so dont know if its made a diff or not but mine drops the first bit quite quick but then sits with a tiny bit missing for ages lasted all day still got over 70% and i have been downloading apps etc. That is the other thing you prob dont realise how much juice downloading apps takes and as its new you will be downloading a ton of them and so battery probably seems worse than it is.

I've read online that the update has already started filtering out, just checked mine, no update :-(

Mine too, hmm... I don't know why you'd be receiving such poor battery life because I haven't received the update either. Been browsing on mine for about 6 hours in the office because our WiFi blocks most forums and in still at 64 percent.

6hrs that's crazy, mine would be dead after 4hrs!
I don't get it either, I've gone through my settings to see if I can save battery.

I have my work emails set to push, my gmail is on manual as I have a Samsung GS2.
Though I have Facebook and Twitter synced, but there appears to be no refresh settings under these 2, you can either sync or not sync, which I hope they address in an update too.

You dont use yahoo mail do you? Its caused some grief with wp7 in the past... I dont have twitter but the rest I do. The only time my battery drains fast is when I'm on WiFi. Few phones have decent WiFi power management.

No I don't use Yahoo.
I'm connected the WIFI all the time, at home and work, maybe that's where its going, but I hope to god they fix it as I do like this phone a lot!
