Hip people, im new to this, just got a android headunit RK3066 800x480, im trying to install the radio and music mods but i cant find the system folder to replace the apk. files. can any help? does the unit have to rooted?

Yep, you're right. I already have explained this, but on 4pda.ru and in Russian. Let me try to translate that to English quickly:

The sound processor that is installed on our devices, the ROHM BD37534FV and analogues, including commonly used BD3702FV, has the following functions:
• Three-band parametric equalizer with adjustments of gain in range -20dB – +20dB, frequency and Q-factor of the filter in each band.
• Configurable loudness module with gain in range from 0dB to +20dB, and adjustment of filter frequency and the level of high frequencies suppression.
• Setting of subwoofer output, including selection of signal source, cut-off frequency, phase, and gain.

Great work @7floor. Some short questions:

1. Does the software you have designed to go with the hardware mod allow the subwoofer output to be controlled (level, cut-off frequency, phase, gain). I couldn't see it in the screenshot you posted, but maybe it is in the balance/fade section.

2. If one were to use a software equalizer/processor like viper4audio, how would this interact with the software you have designed to control the sound processor? Would they both affect the sound?

3. I read in some earlier posts, I read that some HuiFei type units come with the factory amplifier outputs crossed over at 100hz (high pass filter). Does your modification allow this to be controlled or turned off? Is it incorporated into the software?

I was holding out on buying one of these stereos due to the inability to control the subwoofer level and crossover point as well as the crossover point for the other channels. Looks like this might be a fix for that which would be a major development. Thanks again!

@Malaysk, it work !! now using radio without the live wallpaper at the background as the live wallpaper is making the wording hard to see.

same as music.apk also....need to delete existing & install back.

Yes, it allows configuration of all the above. It's in the Settings section.

They will not interact with each other in any way, but they both would change the sound their way. Viper and software like it change, let's say, digital audio stream in Android. My software only controls the hardware chip (its filters, gain and other settings).
Personally I'm not using any of the software "sound beautificators", but if you like e.g. Viper, it's up to you. I would only suggest that you temporarily disable it, adjust sound with hardware, and then enable and adjust Viper or whatever else you use.

Never read anything like that. But I can assure you, that BD37xxx chips do not have any options to cut off stereo outputs (no HPF). If you are curious, you may search for a datasheet and refer to it. These ICs only have a LPF for subwoofer with selectable cut-off frequency at 55/85/120/160Hz, phase shift (0°/180°), and channel gain.

Addition:
You may download and install my equalizer without any HW modifications (SoundControl-1.1.apk is the latest at present), just to get an idea how it looks like and what settings it has. Then just uninstall it to bring back the stock equalizer.

thanks for checking perhaps inside the ROM is updated, there was an issue with boot loop while upgrading ROM, I am hoping this one fixes it.
I doubt we will see any more 4.4.4 update from JY, I have asked them many time to fix the time stamp.

looks very good. Unfortunately they mix up with the other app styles. Maybe you have some time in the future to remake all mtc apps including bluetooth and dvd, with this style. But for now. Awesome! (the onlyest i miss at the stock music player: No shuffle)

I can not connect to the bluetooth v1.4 elm327 and the car stereo.
Android Phones Bluetooth OBD elm327 works beautifully.
It also works with the car's stereo elm327 wifi.

I would like to use the Nissan Datascan II, this is the only app. which is working with Nissan over the OBD II, but unfortunately it does not have a wifi connection
Car stereo up to find Bluetooth phone, and it works well.
but if you look for a car stereo, and it takes only ELM327 remains white.
He did not ask for the PIN code, and there is no any connection? pin code is 1234th

Is there any solution for this. unfortunately I search found no forum here.
I've tried other rom and the MCU, but the result is the same ...

would you please add a way to Backup the Radio stations and restore them after a clean ROM installation or on another unit.
I keep losing the Radio stations randomly, sometimes it is good for days and sometimes it is gone after a simple reboot.
Also if I press the search button by mistake I lose the radio station presets forever,
this would be a big improvement to the MTCRadio as I hear many people complain about this issue.

Find the orange cable with a black strip at your HU connector and cut it. No more video when you're in reverse.
