Just stumbled on a really long post on some Russian forums with a ton of great information. I found the MTCB-GS-v1.90 and updated my unit. Seemed to fix some wifi dropping issues I had. Haven't really played with anything more than that.

Google drive link with most (maybe all) version releases.

They seem pretty clued up from looking at the updates - with KGL, RM, Klyde and GS versions, dont think Google translate is that good for Russian, pity cos I m sure we could learn stuff from that thread and they could learn stuff from this one.

XBMC can do so many things. Not only a nice Media Center interface but you can add repos that allow additional items :good:
I ve got it on my Android tv box, just never use it as its easier to use the media player on the box, not knocking it though, think you could get it to run on these devices, just as I said I think the screen maybe too small to see writing.

Google translate worked OK for me. I skimmed through 20 or so pages. Funny thing, there's quite a few people referencing this thread too.

If anyone opens up their unit to play with the mic please take some pictures. I want to see inside, but I also want it to continue to work after.

Oh, also. Anyone have any ideas on Bluetooth tethering. I'm not sure if that's a hardware or software requirement, but it would be nice since I'm connecting Bluetooth anyways to not have to also WiFi tether. Just a thought.

Can anyone tell if this unit is the same unit that this thread is concerning? Seems like a good price. Is other .img file able to be flashed to it?

Looks like a variant of the AN21-U to me, assuming theyve had an update to android 4.2.1, the units on this thread are all 4.2.2.

I took some not so great pics when I had mine apart to check for miniUSB. Seems they just left the connector off the board, so I might just add one.

In the last pic, it appears the mic actually is wired through the board and soldered to the backside pads, so clipping or unsoldering one of the wires shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks. Took a look and the Klyde pcb layout is a bit different than the KGL. It appears the mic is still soldered to the backside of the right side board, so modification should be the same regardless of model.

Yeah, seems to be the correct name. I got a redirect URL from Keylo. Does anyone know the "Witson" systems? I`m als in contact with them and the price seems to be ok. I`m not sure what unit it is.

For example:

h t t p : // w w w .witson.com/en/displayproduct.html?proID=102162115

More information about this unit: I saw a youtube movie from somebody who installed a Witson 422 system. I paused the movie for software information and the version is: MTCB-KLD-V1.86 23 june 2014

I have a HuiFei KGL unit with 1.77 firmware.

The front page of this thread describes the 1.86 fimware update simply as follows: "v1.86 includes bluetooth menu and fixes wifi issues for some people."

Is that really all there is too it? If so I won't bother installing the upgraded firmware. Are there are fixes and features associated with 1.86 or is it really just that?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it also fixes a lot of WiFi/Bluetooth connections dropping. Other than that, in not sure.

They added the Bluetooth settings screen into android Settings. Supposedly includes some microphone fixes, but that's unconfirmed. Wifi connection tends to drop on 1.86 when a certain amount of data is passed through, so some have been running the 1.77 kernel with the 1.86 system image. Also, in the EQ settings, the labels for Bass and Treble are reversed.

There may be changes to the MCU firmware too. I know some have had issues with their button mappings going awry after flashing 1.86.
