Probably would't help much if the supplier dosn't respect the EU trade laws. Engaging in a lawsuit under Chinese laws - hmmm:(
Probably not :( just a thought as you are technically buying the unit from within the EU and it should be returned to them not china.

---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:55 PM ----------

Oh please, don't even go there... Total waste of time... But I'm starting to get it why the big names in the industry are not making units like this... And I think if this one goes south I'll just forget about these chinese duds and go for an Alpine unit for music and just use a damn tablet for navigation...
Hopefully the techie guys on here may be able to help you out and get it into recovery.

The bluetooth application serves not only purpose of making calls, but also acts as a Bluetooth A2DP music player.
Being another player is exactly the reason why it takes over other players - it just does what the other media applications like media player and radio do once launched - swithch the sound input to their own.
This way, it is normal and expectable behavior for bluetooth app as a media player application, so nothing to change here.
Not necessarily. The app could start without switching the sound input at start. It would be enough to switch the sound / kill other apps when the user either actually starts playing media via bluetooth, or starts calling. The User Interface by itself, not handling yet any audio, has no real reason to kill other apps sound...

I have a feeling it's hardware, not software...

I don't have 1024x600 device to test on, but if you could send me screenshots of every page of the MTCBluetooth app (including with contacts list and call history), I'd be happy to try. You test, make screnshots again and I think we could finish in a couple of turns.
Can you send me code and i will change by my self, i know some programming :)

So tell that Chinese programmers. Every stock application on start switches input to its own, and on exit switches to the "System" input.
BTW, apps are not killed, just the hardware input is switched.

This is all the info i have.

The problem started a year after i bought the radio. One morning i started my car and got a black screen.
After that nothing helped not even China is replying anymore.
The other topic tried to help me and figured out this would be a hufei radio.
I havent done anything to it. No updates or other. Just used it normally.

They sended this radio in a carton with bubbles in it so i have no serial number or something like that.

Is there someone that can help me out ?

I spitted the whole Winlink/Ownice Android head unit - 4.4.2 topic and realized that i was in the wrong topic :/
Working on it for 3 days nothing got solved.

My startup screen :

- Download Malaysk's ROM
- unrar it to the root of your GPS SD card
- insert the card in the GPS slot and power it on
- entering into recovery, update should pick the ROM image from the SD card and flash it on
I would try the steps above, you've got nothing to loose.

PS. Some philosofy follows :)
What's illogical here (in my personal opinion), is why the telephone application has been joined together with music player into a single application. I understand that it is because they both are about bluetooth, but this doesn't make much sense for me than the fact that their purposes are unrelated. Consider any smartphone from this perspective - wouldn't you be surprised if your smartphone had a dialer in the same application as the music player? I would! :)
agreed. This makes no sense to me either. My stock car infotainment system had BT audio and phone calls as separate.

I still would like someone to tackle the ability to make calls based on voice commands using the synced phone book. Again, my old car infotainment system did this. You said "call <contact name>", and because the phone book was synced via BT, it sent a command to the phone to dial that contact. How hard would this be? Right now I just resort to picking up my phone and dialing contacts directly, as using the HU contact list while driving is too difficult.
I'd really love get recieve bluettoth song details (in mtc app), phone signal strength (in statusbar), phone battery level (in statusbar). Perhaps an xposed app could intercept, or maybe we need modification to bluetooth stack or protocol. Sure I can get similar working with tasker/autoremote, but I'm hoping for a native solution (phone side) instead of 3rd party. There is a bit of a problem with how bluetooth is handled though in that the android system itself doesn't see it properly (eg in Tasker, unable to detect if bt is connected)

It's all above my paygrade though :(

And music on sd card with poweramp is great

My system is running android 4.4.4 and it is rooted. The security option that allows for installing apks from unknown sources is grayed out. Does anyone know why this would be?

Thanks.

right, I don't bother with BT audio on my HU, because it's so easy to load up a SD card w/ all my music and play locally using poweramp.

Really this HU does everything I want it to do fairly well, except for voice control. Google now does an okay job of most tasks, but again if I could dial contacts imported from my phone using voice commands, that'd really do it for me.

Btw to the guy that said they wouldn't consider this HU if they already had an infotainment system... the mazda infotainment system is universally regarded as terrible. Slow/ugly tom tom maps, clunky voice controls that takes almost a minute to place calls due to overly verbose voice prompts (I never used it even tho it worked), dark & low res 6" screen, I could go on. My cheap android HU is a massive improvement. I don't miss the stock unit one bit. Waze maps & poweramp for music already blow the stock unit away.

Sorry it's taken me so long. My rooted stock JY ROM has just Text-to-speech output and Touch & hold delay in Accessibility -> System. Nothing else there.
Thanks. Apparently, the HueFei HUs came with a custom version of the Settings app (settings.apk) that do not allow apps to either create the Services category or modify it (add entries). I wish either they would provide an uncrippled version of Settings or I could get some help in fixing it (I modified the accessibility_settings.xml file and was able to add the Services category but on the JYHU the apps still cannot add entries to it).

I am quite frankly getting tired of fighting with this radio...I don't have time for this; I would rather have a safe simple working unit than an unsafe (or distractive) complex poor quality half-way working unit.
sorry for ranting so publicly.

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if its possible to change the boot logo on an installed stock ROM that has root via *#hct#root# method?

Its easy to change the boot animation car-brand logo, but how to change the first static boot logo with the little Android Kitkat robot? Here is pic from other user who asked on page 1572:

It seems this boot logo is compiled into the kernel or as initlogo.rle

I tried to edit a few different HA stock ROM update.img but always error loading the img. Tried with Firmware Factory Tool v3.4 and RK3xxx Firmware Tool, which both have specific function for changing boot logo. Does anyone know a working method to change this boot logo or remove it completely? Can it be possible without flashing ROM somehow? Edit init.rc? Flash a patch zip?
