sound only coming off from front right speaker

I have a Klyde device, but sometimes when i turn my car on the sound only comes off from the front right speaker. I've tried updating the firmware from the seller but the problem still goes on. It's completely random, sometimes the sound works just fine and sometimes only in the front right speaker. Any help????

PS: The only way to restore all speakers is to press the RES button. Using reboot software and turning off and on again dont work!!

I bought a KGL Head Unit the other week fitted great etc have it rooted as per the fantastic guides on this thread, but my wifi is weak barely receive my home wifi on the drive, is there anyway i can boost it...Picture attached of unit..

I've got the same experience with my unit too. I had to wi-fi tether to my phone because my home wi-fi was totally unusable on my driveway, approx 30 ft from my router. I tried all updates (currently on 2.02) - no difference.

Same here guys, I am not even 10 feet away from my router and it is unstable, there is no antenna in the unit only a cable sticking out so far I could see, I am using a mifi to get internet but it is in the car and I have full wifi bar with that.

Soon I will go to a dongle with data plan, so no need for solution in my case, but you could soldeer a connector to the wifi cable and attach a antenna to it, just be sure you got the right cable.

EDIT: I was on mobile XDA app so I couldn't check there but here a post with inside pictures and you can see where the wifi antenna needs to be attached:

hello guys this is David and I write from Italy, I bought from tradesolution model t6605a, but has problems, the unit shuts down all the time, when I try to turn it takes five or ten minutes, and does not go very well, for example, 'little man android power is jerky, or not turning. If you can call that a antenna, especially in a full metal housing. Picture is not clear to see but it is very common thing on Chinese soldering departments

What car brand/model u got ?

The one you posted got the VW OEM look, i use KGL-8401 in my Golf 5. Doesnt have OEM look but display size is bigger.

Hi, I have a small electronics lab, so when I received the unit with the TV box, I hooked it together and tested it, reception was good inside the house but I am not sure how it is in the car, we have only 4 free to air digital channels but that’s enough for me, my main concern is where to put the antenna of the TV box discreetly, but we will see.

Yes, I could launch the TV app on the unit and use the touch screen to search and store channels. Next time when I launch the app it took little bit time to open the channels since its digital but it works.

I am working this weekend, maybe I will have some time next wednesday if the weather stays dry I will install the TV box and the GSM dongle and take some video, but I don't promise anything

Thanks for your prompt reply. As you may have seen from earlier posts I have the problem of controlling the TV box (Note: box is marked 'DTV4'): TV box's video signal is shown on the HU - 'bad signal' indicator due to BBC station selected from factory test? - but no control of the TV box possible at all, i.e. no menu appearing when touching the touch screen. I assume the TVapp is not sending touches out to the MCU/TV box while I assume that the MCU/TV box link is ok because when changing TV box option in the factory settings menu from a DTV box type to a ATV box type - with the result that the DTV app is replaced by a ATV app - and initating channel scan, then I can see commands going from the HU to the TV box (by tapping the communication wire of the connection cable between HU and TV box). A remarkable difference between the DTV and ATV app is, the ATV app - when touching the screen - owns and pops up its own menu for controlling the ATV box, while the DTV app doesn't have a menu at all, but TV box inserts it's menu into the video signal and DTV app then needs to send 'touch positions' to the DTV box for interpretation.

Can you please do me a favour and provide information about your HU type, versions of installed image and MCU and the version number of your DTV app? Maybe you can provide me your DTV app?

BTW: I proposed to my seller to send back TV box for checking but he wants to have back TV box AND HU, which I'm rsisiting to do for the time being. So I have the incitation to root cause the problem by myself

The difference is the AndroidManifest.xml.

OEM --> keeps the same package name as the original Radio (com.microntek.radio)
non-OEM --> I change it to whatever, so that you can install the app without removing the OEM one. (i.e. com.microntek.radioRallySkin)

Android identifies apps by their package names. You cannot install two times the same app, that´s why you need to change the "package" name if you want to install it with the OEM app.

you need to be rooted, you need the "flash_image" file, you can use android tools to extract only the kernel from 1.77 image and you need to run the command:
flash_image kernet kernel.img

follow the tutorial for installing TWRP recovery image in the first page and do the same for the kernel

Okay, First of all my car is a Golf MK6 Variant, and I didn’t do any FW updates at all yet, I got the unit 5 months now. First I ordered the unit even before I received it I decided to order the TV Box too and seller was kind to send it without shipment costs.

I took couple pictures for you, here is my TV Box with its supplied antenna, it is not marked with anything but here in Netherlands we use DVB-T so I ordered a DVB-T one.

I am going to use this antenna since it has a booster and easier to hide and I had better image inside the house when I was testing:

This is my DTV app, I am not sure how I could provide the apk of it, I am not that good around android, if someone lead me the way I can get it for you if it is even possible. It is only 24kB by the way, so probably the driver and the rest is on the TV-Box itself and this app only allows to open and use the touch screen with it:

Hope that helps To be honest I am getting little bit scared to update the FW and have problems with the TV app and such, but I really like to have 2-way CAN-BUS working, so at the end I will do it but have to wait little bit, first I want the GSM dongle working and the TV working than I will back it up before I start with any upgrade.

So the seller reluctantly canceled the order for the KGL unit I placed, and now Aliexpress is automatically canceling all the orders I make and requesting I provide scans of my DL and credit card. I dont want to do that. I ordered a Klyde unit on Tmart via paypal. No experience with Tmart, no clue how long it will be to ship. When I bought my GS unit on Ali I had it in my hands like 3 days later :crying:

I see you have a Golf MK6 variant. Does your car have the dual fakra antenna? How is your radio reception on the HuiFei, and what antenna adapter are you using?

Edit: Nevermind, found your old post. You describe my radio problems exactly. I've tried 3 antenna adapters. I ordered the Klyde unit to see if it's any better with our car (different radio IC in the Klyde).

You would need to have to seller send you a screenshot of the Settings->About screen, with the MCU information. The launcher screenshots appear to be from KGL/KLD, but they could just be the generic ones floating around AliExpress.

It appears to be a Klyde version judging from the spec and photos of the launcher (but one of the smaller pictures shows the RoadMaster launcher) so I would think its a Klyde. Do what agentdr8 says to be certain.

Not sure what you mean by "HuiFei compatible" - all of them are Rockchip RK3066 tablet based devices with only minor differences - I usually say all versions are good, the Klyde, the HuiFei/KGL, the Roadmaster and the GS (which appears to be exactly the same as the HuiFei/KGLs), but there have been reports of a few HuiFei/KGLs blowing speakers and of them having very poor radios (Skitals has cancelled his KGL and ordered a Klyde) so you could argue it might be best to avoid getting a KGL/HuiFei, although I wouldnt go as far as saying that yet personally.

Does anyone see any issues this headunit being only 1U and 8" screen being separate. Should I expect troubles with compability with devices and programs discussed in this thread as I'm thrilled what people has been able to pull out from their devices so far and I would like to do so as well.

I'm just maybe me being over caution about this, but so far all devices discussed here, that I have seen, has been 2U HU with integrated display.

No, I've taken my unit apart in the past (no photos) and there were no obvious problems. The antenna was attached and well grounded to the metal cage around the radio ic.

Well lets just hope the Klyde one works ok !

The only ones I could find on Tmart have KGL/GS back panels and one pic that shows the RoadMaster type launcher and one that shows the KGL/GS type launcher.
