I m sorry I dont really understand your query, is it not clear from looking at the photos how the unit fits ? Is it not clear that this unit is definitely "integrated" (ie one piece), albeit not in the usual double DIN case, but in a custom made moulding for your car ? What problems would any of this likely give you ?

If you read the first post you will see that KLD means a Klyde unit and that ALL types are RK3066.

Sorry for being hard to understand, but I was just unsure about the fact this unit being fitted into unusual 1U HU instead of 2U HU. Maybe the necessary hardware is just there and this unit is compatible.

I'm not worried about fitting this set into my car, I was just worried about units hardware and software compatibility.

Edit: Nevermind, found your old post. You describe my radio problems exactly. I've tried 3 antenna adapters. I ordered the Klyde unit to see if it's any better with our car (different radio IC in the Klyde).

Yes I have still same problem but I didn’t do anything since my last post about this issue, to be honest I don't listen radio. In most cases I am on Poweramp and that’s it, if I really need radio I just run Tunnelin radio since I have a good monthly data plan, since I got 3 years warranty with my unit I don’t want to avoid it by opening the unit to fix it, otherwise I would rearrange everything and check the soldering points.

But I wish you goodluck with the Klyde unit and the fakra antenna.

I cant see why as the specs clearly state that the hardware and software are the same as any other variant and I m still unsure what you mean by "compatibility", compatibility with what ? !

The BMW versions are also single DIN also. The hardware of the one you posted is the same, but he screen is mounted outside of the main unit, that is all.

The only ones I could find on Tmart have KGL/GS back panels and one pic that shows the RoadMaster type launcher and one that shows the KGL/GS type launcher.

So the seller reluctantly canceled the order for the KGL unit I placed, and now Aliexpress is automatically canceling all the orders I make and requesting I provide scans of my DL and credit card. I dont want to do that. I ordered a Klyde unit on Tmart via paypal. No experience with Tmart, no clue how long it will be to ship. When I bought my GS unit on Ali I had it in my hands like 3 days later :crying:

I bought this fakra adapter that fits and works okay on my Golf mk6 variant:

The first adapter i bought didn't fit the double fakra that is in the golf mk6, besides the reception with this first adapter was very poor. Another problem with these fakra adapters (both of them) is that the pin inside the connector is pushed inside when connecting the fakra connector. I hope you understand what i mean So pay attention on the pin inside the connector of the adapter cable when connecting them to the Original VW cable in your car.

For the time being you don't need to put any further effort regarding my problem.

I have also "KGL" [without any further number] MCU image. I will try to find V1.70 release somwhere in the internet. Forun's repository has only software starting V1.77. If I find, I will downgrade *MY* radio for testing.

Do you have problems with GPS? ...and I assumed your TV is working...???

Hi, I have the same car and radio as you have, and from NL too. I did some FW upgrade (and downgrade) I suggest you upgrade to 'mcu.img' v1.77 with system image 'update.img' v1.99. The problems i got with MCU v1.99: steering wheel track up and down buttons skips several tracks, and front lightning always on. With MCU v1.77 I don't have these problems.
I don't know what the problem with your DTV is (I have the same DTV box attached, mine is stamped DTV4) but possibly you didnt select DTV in the factory menu of the radio. (The menu with code 126) You have to choose for TV option: TV03-ISDB-T...
In FW1.77 and FW1.99 there is an DTV app selectable in the android menu. If you can't find it i can send it to you if you want. It is just 61kB in size.

I just brick mine.

KGL 7620G (withouth knobs)

I was this evening installing Viper 4 Android (amazing eq for our units), and later trying to change resolutions.

I tried to change lcd density from build.prop from 240 to 220.

I did:
"adb pull /system/build.prop"

change lcd density from 240 to 220 and then

adb shell
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /system

adb push /system/build.prop/

and then reboot


Then unit is now in bootloop.

I don't know what to do. I did a backup with NANDROID in TWRP format, but i don't know how to use it now.


¿Any recommendation?

I tried to get into recovery mode but i don't have any backup of my system in the format that could be readed by recovery.


Please i need help!! :/

Sorry guys, I mislead you with my busted English I guess, my TV box is running fine what I meant was I want it working in the car since I have to install it yet, I only tested in my electronics lab and it is working. I just wanted to wait before FW upgrade till I install the TV box in the car.

Ah great thanks! I have to figure out how to do that with mixing MCU and Update since I didn't read whole thread but that will be okay.
And thanks for the Fakra adaptor you posted, I will order one directly. I have a similar adaptor in my Car right now but the dual connectors did not fit so I had to modify the adaptor (not the one in the car) but I had still bad reception, so I pulled out the blue +12V wire since it was not working.

You've got a custom recovery like TWRP? If so, you should be able to use adb via the front usb port while in recovery to push a stock version of the build.prop.

I didn't flash TWRP. I just installed nandroid backup and I made a backup selecting TWRP format. That's a collection of files with *.win extension that I don't know what to do.

You should be able to put the update.img on an sdcard and flash that to get a working system again. I guess if Nandroid Backup doesn't do restores, then you'd have to install TWRP to restore the files made.

Yes, I know that TV is to be controlled by the up/down/right/left soft keys on the touch screen. But that on-screen menu doesn't appear at all when touching the screen.

With my previous radio (Krämer Automotive KR-G6+) I had a Tristan Auron DT2420 Diversity DVB-T receiver with fantastic reception due to diversity. This box has the same on-screen control principle (maybe from the same manufacturer similar to all the KGL radio variants discussed here). But I can't use that box with the Erisin radio because of different connector type And different control voltage levels (DT2420 = 12V/5V, Erisin = 12V/3.3V).

As your reseller has told you, the fault could be in your HU as well as in your DTV box (or the cable between them?). What FW are you on at the moment? Maybe an upgrade could do the trick?
