For me works only radio with MDF

Is not working properly - it should show "NET FM" in the MFD, but I think thats more to do with the radio app - the Chinese dont seem to realise that the station name is more important than the frequency if RDS is working so I think the app is outputting this to the MFD rather than the station name. If you modified the xml and swapped station name and frequency round theres a chence it might sort it.

Can anyone suggest a HuiFei or similar to fit a Honda Civic 2009 UK car ?
Any links would be good.

Um, sorry, no ! - All it takes to find one is typing into Google "HuiFei", "KGL", "Klyde" or "Roadmaster" + "Civic".

If nothing comes up, there are none and you need a universal one.

But if you need someone to Google something for you, then I m not sure that one of these units is for you

Its a pity there isnt a way to control the receiver from Android so you didnt have to have the big box next to the stereo.

Actualy i'm on Fw2.02 and MCU KGL1.77 because my canbus stoped working with MCU 2.02. I only use Gravity box for xposed and the list stile music app.

Ah okay, ev1966 and most other guys are using MCU 1.77 or the kernel of it indeed. I would love to see mp3 song names on MFD but maybe later on with newer updates, this unit is still popular and sells enough I think.

If you're using a mode button via SWC, XposedMTC exits the radio app when switching to Poweramp (or other Music app of your choice). I suppose I could write something else that would watch for Poweramp launch intent and then send the proper av_channel switches to mute the radio output.

My Car has no SWC would be very cool if you could work something out

I would love to se that to in future updates. I never had wifi problems or bad radio reception,but yesterday my canbus stoped workin with 2.02MCU,so i tried 1.77 and it started to work again. If anyone is interested,just download quickboot from market,to get easy access to recovery an than just select MCU.img and flash it. Works excelent

Lock Screen

you need to find the keystr file (or make one if need be) and change it to on. I have been playing with multiuser and it somewhat works but needs a lockscreen. or maybe try to run this
sqlite3 /data/system/locksettings.db "UPDATE locksettings SET value = '0' WHERE name = 'lockscreen.disabled'"

after playing with it yes the sqlite is installed on the unit and it will enable the lock.
You can also get usb debugging by playing with some settings in these files too

I will play with it to see how stable multi profiles is. Seems to work though. Start car pick a person. Wish tasker would update to change profiles by bluetooth connection. That would make more sense, and just be excellent. Anyone know the developer?

/efs/imei/ don't exist.
So i entered those commands:

mkdir /efs/
mkdir /efs/imei/
echo -n ON >> /efs/imei/keystr

When i reboot the GS unit the /efs/imei/keystr are completely gone!
What am i doing wrong here?

you can get it working but your unit will be unstable. It started resetting it self at times. Best way to get one is use multiuser. it starts with a locked screen. You can use hidden settings to get the setting menu for it also.

try some of the lockscreen apps from the market. one did worked but i crashed my unit for another reason so I had to reset it. there are a few ways to lock the screen. Some are depriciated and no longer work on this thing. They will just turn the screen off. Make sure you have it set to swipe or something in the settings before trying.

So here's a question, what's the chances that the current 800x480 systems could have their screens upgraded to the 1024x600 screens when the screens are released in the machines? Or will they have a total regut to support the higher Res screen?


Hmm still can't get xposed framework + appsetting to work on 1.99. May downgrade to 1.86 and see what happens, really hope I can fine tune sygic so it displays correctly. As it kinda overlaps some buttons on screen example being when it does alternative routes, its to show 3 but only does 2 as the drag to change route button overtakes the 3rd route option. May just try to adjust the dpi manually to fix the issue to make the interface slightly smaller.

Ive flashed 2.03 image and MCU on a kgl-7618. as before buttons work (not sure on play/pause though but i never use it)
Seems to work don't know what has changed.

There was some app that I've never seen before. I cant find the icon to open it but it showed all the music on my ipod with correct names/artist, didnt show ipod playlist. Now that I've installed poweramp I cant find it. ITs not "Music" or "Ipod"

Sounds like the DVD is outputting in NTSC and the headrests are PAL, or the other way round, try changing picture settings on the headrests or the DVD.

Thank you for your reply. I also suspected problems with matching PAL/NTSC but my headrest system accepts the input signal in both PAL and NTSC. I tried to play DVDs recorded in PAL and NTSC but no improvement.
Is it possible to change dvd format on output?
In the meantime, I ordered a "Bidirecttional-PAL-TO-NTSC-NTSC-TO-PAL-converter" from aliexpress but might be able to solve problem without additional hardware?

Well I wish I was happier I can say.

Light always on. Guessing that is i fixable by changing the mcu version. It has 2.01 on it now which is what it was sent with.I will try 2.02 tomorrow.

The biggest problem is the keys. When you enable multi user again they are embedding the keys in the pre set up user. So I lost everything but a back button. No volume or anything. That makes it useless if we cant adjust volume. I will talk to them about that.

If we can get someone to write a key remapper for this thing we would be golden. Button Savior crashes on pro, and turns down the wrong volume on standard. I think if we could get pro not to crash we could just map buttons as we wish using call functions.

It does sound better than the gs unit though. Other than THE POP oh god I see what you were all complaining about now. They should really fix that. Quite stressing while backing up.

I may try to copy one profile to the other and see if that fixes it.

Just connect a miniusb to the front port and your laptop should be able to see the headunit via adb. Back usb ports don't seem to work for adb though.

I sent him a message before about the app. He may just be too busy to deal with it, or has lack of interest. I would throw him a couple of bucks for fixing this though. I sure others would also.

I guess you would have to search to figure out what is what without a source. So something like try until volume = volume plus one then print out what the hell it is, but then again how do you figure out which volume is the right one also... sounds like a pain that someone will have to have a problem with also to be willing to fix. Hope someone does soon, or I get off my ass and learn java.

It's even easier than that; there's an intent that gets broadcast every time a button is pressed. You can catch this (com.microntek.irkeyDown) and inspect it for keycode, and then offer choices of what to assign it to.

If Keiser is busy/away, I can take a look at writing this.

Backing up

What is the correct of backing up what is installed now?
I was thinking of doing a Nandroid backup - like mentioned in the first post.
My unit (KGL-7698N - 7 inch VW model with knobs) does not have front mini-USB - so not sure how to get to the bootloader - Can someone help - please.
