XposedMTC will only get you different mode switching, assuming your SWC mode button works (and is detected as Mode). If you want next/prev buttons to work in other music apps, try CarAudioService.

Do all the GS units have only one or two led colors? My GS can only do white, off-white, and green. The blue slider does nothing, and the red slider makes it different shades of white.
thanks but i have already tried the CarAudioService app, but my radio has no front panel buttons for for- / backward and play/pause etc. what can i do then?

I am still on FW 1.70, in short time going to update the HU, still getting confused which FW and MCU to take so need to do more reading.
Allow me to recommend you to perform a backup of your current FW release before upgrading so that you are able to revert back to your initial release in case of...

How did you get hold of the source code? Or did you de-compile?

Firmware Files

I've read every single post in this thread, but it's been a while so this may already be posted. Sometimes I check the other active thread that's in Russian and thought I'd share the Google Drive link they posted with all the firmware. Can't guarantee it yet, and haven't installed any myself, but maybe this will help some folks out.

Thanks ProfessorKnox :) There is no need for that anymore :(
I am done with it, it is not possible to update my MCU on this unit no matter what I do, just came back from the car tried every MCU and FW combo and same date releases and still no go, at the end I installed 2.02 FW and I am still on 1.70 MCU, recovered everything back with Titanium rooted and installed exposed and that’s it.

I have every try same error:

Like it is getting blocked by something since the cfg gets aborted, I would appreciate any help with this.

You can still use CarAudioService for next/prev from your SWC even if you don't have hard buttons.

I decompiled all of the MTC apps from the 1.86 system image. I've posted the entire VTS project on the repository here.

Hi Reptile, just a stupid question: are you using the GPS sd slot? I sent my MCU177 file with this message, maybe something wrong with yours?

I've updated XposedMTC for non-SWC users. There are 3 new launcher icons that will get added after upgrade; MyMusic, MyVideos, and MyRadio. Use these shortcuts instead of the original ones for your preferred music, video and radio apps. These launchers will use the apps selected as your preferred apps within the XposedMTC settings and resolve the audio switching issues when you go between Radio and Music or Video using icons instead of a mode switch button (for those of us w/o SWC).

Hi ev1966, I got the MCU files from File reporsity and from first page, I did try every MCU available still same problem, I am not sure but not all of those would be corrupted right? I downloaded several times and checked and it didn't work.

I will try yours too. I couldn't use GPS SD slot because it wouldn't see the updates there so I copied the files to internal "SDCARD" folder, and all FW updates worked from there too.

A side note, I couldn't get in to Recovery either with any key combo, so I was using Quick boot or reboot the device so it picked up the updates itself. Maybe something is different on my HU?

Let me preface this with the fact that my Unit has all the same specs, but not provided from Keylo's factory. I have had my HU installed for 3 weeks now. I still have a couple issues being worked out with the Manufacturer. The SWCs work, but the Canbus adaptor is causing Chinese language in my factory instrument panel. This other issue I have is minor, but the Sygic map software is not showing any maps. GPS is working and can see my route being charted, but no maps. I had originally ordered a model that supported HDD through the USB, but this model does not. It will only support up to 32GB. If the Canbus issue cannot be fixed, I will most likely be returning it. I will say that I have had no system issues with it, meaning no lockup issues. The 30 sec boot time does not bother me much, for all the features I get once it's up. I'm a Pandora fan and the sound is fantastic through this unit with an online music app. The Music player and Radio works good as well, but neither have a quick button to adjust the audio tone/balance. I was a little put out by this at first, since you have to go into the android setting to make changes, including the Loud button...which adds some meat to the music. I have tried several apps and most I wanted worked without any issues. There was one App, GasBuddy, which I could not use due to the compatibility. There were a few other apps I tried, but had issues with the screen resolution. The Google maps works great and has the offline maps, as someone had asked about previously. Weather and Sports apps have worked flawlessly, provide your typical notification icons, and easy access swiping down on the screen. You can create folders on the Home screen to keep the app you use often quickly accessible. I really like this in the 4.2.2 version. I have headrest monitors for the rear seats and the video work great. My only issue is that the audio is not separate, which negates the use of wireless headphones....which is something I was already using in my previous setup. You cannot turn down the volume in the car, without effecting the volume to the headrest monitors. The wifi connects really quick during startup (I use my phone as a hotspot). On power up, it starts up the media app that was open when it shutdown. For me, this is usually Pandora and starts up nicely without needing to mess with getting it connected.
Will you please let me know if the headrest monitors work with 3rd party video players?

My huifei works with headrest monitors only on dvd ?

Kind regards

Are music files and navigation software readable from the GPS slot? Strange the update files don't work from this slot.
A reboot is the way for me too, to acces the update files. I haven't tried other ways to acces the update files.
As you say probably my file won't work either, but it is worth the try

GPS slot works, Tomtom is working from there, also when I need to side load the apps I use that card slot too. I have XDA Premium app so tomorrow I will download your file directly from the HU without any SD card or USB stick, maybe my computer is f*ing them up. I highly doubt it, but you never know. :rolleyes:

The radio stations sometimes randomly reset back to default. Does anyone know why this happens? Any way to stop this from happening?

When the RadioService loads, it reads the system preference file looking for a first-time bootup scenario:

Java:
private void loadPreference()
    {
        resetFlag = false;
        int i = android.provider.Settings.System.getInt(getContentResolver(), "microntek.firstboot", 128);
        if ((i & 0x81) != 129)
        {
            resetFlag = true;
            android.provider.Settings.System.putInt(getContentResolver(), "microntek.firstboot", i | 1);
        }
If for some reason the resetFlag gets set to true, then the defaults get written back to the prefs file. As you can see, the default value of the microntek.firstboot key is 128, and when bitwise ANDed with 0x81 it equals 128 (decimal), which falls through and resets the key to 128 OR'd with 1, which is 129.

I can fix this with XposedMTC, by setting microntek.firstboot to 129 at every boot. Then it would never get reset.

Don't understand the coding bit as much, but I see what you mean..
Would definitely be helpful if you'd update that in xposedmtc =)
Had this happen to me one too many times..

element option missing in V2.02

Hey guys, I just updated to the latest version 2.02 but noticed that the "element" option is missing in the settings, so I can't change the color of the buttons, any idea? or is it placed somewhere else?

I returned my Huifei, due to seller could not resolve my Canbus issue. My Huifei HU would not play my media player through the HU and rear screens either. I purchased the Winca Android 4.0 HU, which has a nice rear zone app and works perfectly with my rear screens. It will even allow HU watch a DVD, while the rear screens watch the media player.

Good news. I was playing around with Sygic settings and found an option under Settings -> Map that allows you to toggle fullscreen on/off! This is on 14.3.1. It works much better than App Settings; it was causing Sygic to crash when forcing fullscreen to never when you went to add a route.

Hmm upgrade to 14.3.1 now appears xposed / appsettings isn't working again to change the dpi....

Went back to 13.4.1 and its working again. So something in 14.3.1 must be blocking the dpi adjustment. I have mine set to 296 and its working quite well, minus a minor crashing issue when the system asks if id like to avoid toll routes, ill just manually turn that on and off to prevent the message to appear.

Must say tho, still prefer Igo still, I just find with sygic that it doesn't warn long enough ahead forvwhen you need to exit a busy highway, Igo for examples gives you 1km before you need to exit, sometimes sygic gives you a warming at 250feet. Semi annoying.

Headrest Monitor

Hi all;

Any ideas why the Huifei works with headrest monitors only on dvd but not with other 3rd party video players?

Is it related with MCU?
Is this a software or hardware issue?
Is there a way around the issue?

Thanks in advance

(1) Did you try just inserting the SD-card into GPS slot when the HU is running? This always worked fine for me thus I never tried any other update procedure than this. But maybe V1.70 doesn't support GPS-slot updates yet. To be honest V1.77 was the earliest build I ever read about in this thread until I read that you are running V1.70.

(2) Getting into recovery is indeed a little bit tricky and I had to try a couple of times.

- Ignition key removed, ignition off for ~5 minutes
- Insert ignition key (and have steering wheel in a position so that ingition key can be turned easiliy)
- Press reset and on/off button
- Wait a couple of seconds (I did wait ~10 seconds)
- Turn on ignition while still reset and on/off buttons are pressed (here you need some acrobatic capabilities ;) )
- Keep reset and on/off button pressed (be patient, I had to wait a certain time, maybe 20 seconds or so?) until
- - either recovery mode appears -> success :)
- - or radio starts up normally -> process failed :( -> start over again with ignition off, ignition key removed and ignition off for ~5 mins.

Hope this helps
