hi,

Can I root this nav though isn't a huifei?

I've bought this nav:
w w w.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-Pure-Android-4-2-2-Toyota-rav4-dvd-gps-navigation-With-Capacitive-Touch-Screen/1890310835.html

and received on tuesday. The software information is:

MCU Version: MTCB-KLD-V1.85 (Jun 09 2014
Model number: S07
Android Version: 4.2.2
Kernel Version: 3.0.36+ ([email protected] #636 Sat Jun 7)
Compilation number:
rk30sdk-eng4.2.2 20140609
it looks like a HuiFei with slighlty differnt hardware (gps, amp, etc). I think that you can root this unit with the same method as the HuiFei, because both have RockChip 3066, so Android will be the same.

I think that the worst thing that can happen is that you do not get root.

I do notice that your MCU is newer. Kernel is the same but newer built, would be nice to know whether there are any improvements on the MCU.
Maybe 1-2-Hak can have a look if you can send him the files.

SWC

@dark alex

I use your CarService.apk even though I do not have SWC I love it because I like to use the buttons as you can skip songs when not in the player screen.

I don´t know if it happens to anyone else, I use PowerAmp. If I stop the car with PowerAmp screen on, when I boot again, and CArService starts, the music gets in Pause mode. I have to manually play it again. However, it does not happen if the player is playing but I stop the car with another app on the screen.

Is it possible for the CarService.apk to detect whether the 3rd party player is already playing and not toggling the play state? or just set it to play, instead of toggle status ?

PS: just a thought.

Thanks, I will try.

Just tell me how can I get the files from the MCU and I will send you.

regarding some apps, I have seen that one of the improvement it's that the radio stations are saved by name instead by frequency

Nice, let us know whether it worked.

Regarding the backup, AFAIK either you need root (nandroid backup) or custom recovery.

You can try to follow one of these http://www.technorms.com/39708/android-backup-4-best-options
I have never used one of those, I would try the second one just because it is from ClockworkMod.

Glad you guys are getting support from your sellers, mine keeps blaming the install forvthe issues I've been having, when its not. So annoyed with my seller, keeps pushing me off and says take it to a professional as my car might be rejecting the radio? Err no the car doesn't really communicate to the radio at all otother than to turn it on and off or turn the illumination on.

Poor radio reception, canbus issues, and all im being told is to take it to a professional, not my first stereo install so professional isn't required. ive narrowed the issue exaclty down to the canbus, radio reception likely caused by my antenna adapter, will swap it out and see.

Just want to say that I finally got mine in today! Had it about 2 or 3 weeks ago, just had no time. Fits like a glove... That had to be cut up lol

Little out of date MCU, any reason to upgrade though?

Also Torque came preinstalled on mine, which I through was odd, but it worked flawlessly

Also I noticed mine has a delay, if I shut the truck off, its says shutting down for a second, then goes black, however 10 seconds later if I start the truck again its still running, no boot up. have tested how long that lasts.

But I got it rooted using the method on here in post 1, I have it backed up, and everythings working dandy. The exposed framework with App settings really does the the lower resolution a second thought, I got the text so small I couldnt read it, and it looked good, so Im not at all worried about not waiting for the higher resolution radios.

Even found the Ram boot Animation ;)

Could you ask your reseller if they have this version for download?

** I checked with Keylo - this is not a Huifei unit. They are working on 1.8.5 and just testing stability at the moment.

Planert, that's exactly what I have too. Also MCU v1.72, model S07 and serial number zero. Only thing I have noticed is that the screen refreshes jumpy specially when the radio interface is on the screen. I rooted and made a backup yesterday, managed to get v1.77 on it but didn't have time to play with it afterwards to see if that jumpy screen refresh is gone.
Do you have that awkward refresh too?

Hi there, I want buy new car DVD for my Golf 7, I really liked specs of HUIFEI car DVD for golf 7 with android 4.2.2..
But my mean problem is: it must work with all canbus functions of the car.. And golf 7 have a lot of things that are controlled by car DVD, like: door open/close status, fuel consumption, car light control, park assist rear and front sensors, esp control and a lot of another functions.. But I never see any interface on any android 4.2.2 showing this functions...
My question is, these functions will work ? Anybody here have any car DVD with android 4.2.2 (or another android version) that can control these can bus functions ?
When i search car DVD for golf 7, only found car DVD with win ce that can control these canbus functions.. Found video that show it:
youtube. com / watch ? v=yZAuLm_noao
You can see all functions after 3 minutes 20 sec

Here is link for android 4.2.2 golf 7 HUIFEI car DVD: alibaba. com /product-detail/ Wholesale-HuiFei-for-VW-New-Golf_1889527004 .html
Here is link for wince golf 7 witson car DVD: witson. com /en/displayproduct. html ?proID=102035184

----------------------------------

Another question, waze works perfectly on android 4.2.2 HUIFEI car DVD ?

Thanks

Just received my unit, the problems I have are:-

1) When radio is on and I switch to SAT NAV Program (I am currently running iGo, but it's the same on CoPilot) I get no sound from the SAT NAV notifications, but I get sound when I am running the stock Meda Player and ProPlayer?

2) I have loaded Torque onto the unit, the Bluetooth see's the dongle and "connects" but the program does not connect to the car it say's the cars protocol cannot not connect.

3) The most concerning thing is I get no sound from the mobile phone (Galaxy S5 cell phone) when making or receiving calls, but I do get sound if I stream music from the mobile (cell phone), I have tried to find a setting but without any luck, I know there is a symbol on the lower right of the Bluetooth screen but that does not seem to do anything. I have had a look at the settings on the S5 and there is nothing that I can change.

Looks like the ODB does not support your car. I don't have this unit yet but i had this issue when i tried a ODB-dongle earlier this year
