Just received my unit, the problems I have are:-

1) When radio is on and I switch to SAT NAV Program (I am currently running iGo, but it's the same on CoPilot) I get no sound from the SAT NAV notifications, but I get sound when I am running the stock Meda Player and ProPlayer?

2) I have loaded Torque onto the unit, the Bluetooth see's the dongle and "connects" but the program does not connect to the car it say's the cars protocol cannot not connect.
1) Check Settings, GPS, Select GPS App (iGo) and set the system to mix sound
2) try to open the realtime info. does it show something?

I use to have AN-21U unit but now is no good. Screen just plain white. I think it;s the motherboard. But anyway, in an AN-21U there's a setup in the unit for bluetooth phone speaker. Setup can be front, rear, or both. Is there any way HuFei unit can do that or hack. Currently, the incoming voice is going to my Subwoofer and I can't hear anything. I would like to go to front speaker. thanks

I tried your MTCAutoLoud.apk and it's not working. Maybe I did it wrong?? I just install the apk. Then go to setup to put a check mark on "Loud" but after a car engine restart, the check mark did not stick.

it looks like a HuiFei with slighlty differnt hardware (gps, amp, etc). I think that you can root this unit with the same method as the HuiFei, because both have RockChip 3066, so Android will be the same.

I think that the worst thing that can happen is that you do not get root.
Nice, let us know whether it worked.
I've could root with the method of the wiki. Thanks.

I've installed Viper audio and I've used super quality audio driver. The audio quality has improved greatly, is recommended use it.

I have to find a way to stay active when the radio switch on.

Glad to hear you could root it. I will try viper audio.

He means the Viper Audio app closes itself every time you switch off the radio. It doesn't initiate itself by default. He's using Tasker in order to achieve this.

Cheers

1) Tried the two settings (switched and mix) and with GPS monitor on and off, makes no difference
2) Could you tell me where the RealTime info is, please or how to access it.

Try with tasker, in the first post there is how to.
Set Loud
Method 1:
You need Tasker or Automagic or similar app.
Set up a task that runs at boot with the following code as "shell command"
am broadcast -a com.microntek.irkeyDown --ei keyCode 44
Do I need to use Terminal to enter those command or it's in some where Tasker? Sorry I don't understand.

And is this the one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm

hi,

Can I root this nav though isn't a huifei?

I've bought this nav:
w w w.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-Pure-Android-4-2-2-Toyota-rav4-dvd-gps-navigation-With-Capacitive-Touch-Screen/1890310835.html

and received on tuesday. The software information is:

MCU Version: MTCB-KLD-V1.85 (Jun 09 2014
Model number: S07
Android Version: 4.2.2
Kernel Version: 3.0.36+ ([email protected] #636 Sat Jun 7)
Compilation number:
rk30sdk-eng4.2.2 20140609
Hey, that's gotta be the same guts as the unit I bought! Still waiting for it to come in.
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6125852577.html
I was wondering earlier if it was a HuiFei clone. I guess this settles it. It's good to hear you were still able to root it.
Perhaps we can start a new thread once few more people get the same thing.

I dealt with a UK supplier called Dynamic Sounds in London, UK. The guy I spoke to was called Mem and the canbus interfaces are made by Connect2, another UK company. I can't say much for Connects2, but Mem seems to know their products better they they do and he was very helpful. There are three Connects2 interfaces for vw's CTSVW001, 002.2 and 003. The Seat part 001.2 is the same as the vw002.2. Google Dynamic Sounds and Connects2 and it should come up.

I could not get 12v Accessory, just 12v ignition - but I have been trying to get Connects2 to fix their firmware to keep the accessory line on until the key is fully removed.

I don't think most sellers really know much about specific installs - just the products they have for sale.

Good Luck!
I agree with your last line, I dont believe my seller has a clue. He keeps saying I dont need a canbus adapter as my car doesnt have steering wheel controls, and insists that I plug in the bypass line even tho I told him numerous times that this will just cause battery drain as both the radio and my amp connected to it remain on.

The only other solution I found to try to bypass that red accessory line is a royal PITA to do, as it involves having to remove my steering wheel, to be able to take the screws out of the bezel that goes around the steering column to gain access to the power harness at the key.

So annoyed. So a heads up to all you VW owners, that there will be this glitch that you may or may not want to have to deal with. So far its been nothing but a headache for me. As I do need the power on at key to be enabled and not fluctuating on and off like it does.

I was sitting in a parking lot talking to the girlfriend with the key off but not pulled out after having the engine on, the radio randomly cam on and off 5 times for 30 seconds.

Im debating on removing the canbus and installing another one. However I feel its not right that I paid 500 for a radio and that its not fully functioning with the advertisement of it being compatible with my vehicle.

You need to create a Task, and Create a Profile that calls the task. Follow this:

The profile describes the event that needs to happen, to call the Task (in this case, the task is set loud).

First create the task. It is in xml format in the attachemnts.

0- unzip file in the attachments.

Open Tasker
1- got to Tasks tab.
2- " long tap" Tasks --> a window will appear.
3- choose Import. and import SetLoud.tsk.xml

Now, you have to create the Profile

1- go to profile
2- create new profile
2.1- choose: Event -->System--> Device Boot
2.2 Go back. a window with names of Tasks will appear. Choose Set Loud.

Done.

Make sure the profile is "On".
Reboot the unit and check whether Loud is set after boot.

-- Update 21/06/2014 --
File updated.
Run the task alone in order to check whether it woks (press play button insde the task) . Or write the code in a shell terminal

Hi there, I want buy new car DVD for my Golf 7, I really liked specs of HUIFEI car DVD for golf 7 with android 4.2.2..
But my mean problem is: it must work with all canbus functions of the car.. And golf 7 have a lot of things that are controlled by car DVD, like: door open/close status, fuel consumption, car light control, park assist rear and front sensors, esp control and a lot of another functions.. But I never see any interface on any android 4.2.2 showing this functions...
My question is, these functions will work ? Anybody here have any car DVD with android 4.2.2 (or another android version) that can control these can bus functions ?
When i search car DVD for golf 7, only found car DVD with win ce that can control these canbus functions.. Found video that show it:
youtube. com / watch ? v=yZAuLm_noao
You can see all functions after 3 minutes 20 sec

Here is link for android 4.2.2 golf 7 HUIFEI car DVD: alibaba. com /product-detail/ Wholesale-HuiFei-for-VW-New-Golf_1889527004 .html
Here is link for wince golf 7 witson car DVD: witson. com /en/displayproduct. html ?proID=102035184

----------------------------------

Another question, waze works perfectly on android 4.2.2 HUIFEI car DVD ?

Thanks

Has anyone found a way to communicate with can bus?

I have one of the more recent Hui Fei android head units. I've rooted it and installed a full Debian build using Linux Deploy (excellent app btw)

I am trying to figure out how to communicate with the car's can bus. So far I have determined that all of the external buttons on the faceplate, and all of the can bus inputs from the steering wheel and the headlight go to /dev/ttyV2. However, I haven't been able to figure out what these messages actually are. Running "cat /dev/ttyV2" produces output that looks like ".^.]" when buttons are pressed. I've tried a number of configurations to try to get something readable out of this.

Does anyone have any suggestions, insights or information on this? So far I've found nothing in my searches.

Hi I am sorry this CarService apk is not my work.
But I think the creator will reply for me here :)
Hello,

In fact, I was not able to know properly if music is playing or not, I can just detect when play state change.
So, when the unit boots up, I cannot know if what is the play state until this state changes.
When the service starts, I start playing the music and admit the current playing state is "playing".
The problem is : if music player already auto-play the music, my app send a play signal and it toggle the state to pause !

I attach a new version without auto-play feature. But, at start-up, I think the next button will not work as expected. It will toggle pause / play every time you will press it until the track will change (by pressing poweramp interface button or when current track will end).
In the gui of my app, you will be able to see the key codes of the pressed buttons (will be useful for developers).

I will work again on these issues when my head unit will be fixed.

All I can say , seeing the code of MicrontekService, is that the baud rate seems to be 38400
I think you have to get the ascii codes of the received frames and analyse what happens when you press buttons.

Good luck !

I'm incredibly tempted by one of these units to replace my under performing Parrot Asteroid.
Where is the best place to buy in the UK?
How is Android or the music app at handling large volumes of MP3's via USB? I don't want to use a library based system, just browse the files/folders on the disc. This seems to be a limitation of many head units for some reason.

I like the look of the E46 version - where have people got theirs from in this thread?

Thanks
Guys

Anyone in the Uk (or Europe, for that matter) looking for one of these units should have a look here: http://www.bmwradios.com/

I know the company from the Rover 75 and ZT Club. Company rep Sean Moore (AKA Radioguy) has been on there for over 4 years and gives excellent service. Have a look at the Double Din section, they pretty much dominate things there.

The E46 version of this unit was recently introduced to us there by Sean. This units also fits the Rover 75/MG ZT with some minor modification - thats why we have it.

I'm pretty sure that Sean could also source other models of this radio in addition to the E46. All units are shipped from the UK and there is also a repair depot in the UK so no customs duties, shipping back to China etc.

Sean also provides a trade in facility. I must be on my 6th at 7th DD from him at this stage, all traded up for a newer model.
