FYI Step 1 describes the download method for the i9100. The method on the SGH-I777 is: With the phone powered off, plug in the usb cable while holding the vol up + vol down buttons (but not the power button). At the warning screen, press Volume up to continue into download mode.

BTW, why did you post this in development? Doesn't a guide belong in the general forum?

I agree - it's a guide, no development here in this thread.

Just because the mods let it slide in the Epic 4G Touch forums doesn't mean it's OK here - the E4GT dev forum is a total and complete mess.

He's got a separate thread for his kernel.
Actually, I believe the dude has 2 kernels. The one in referenced in this thread is a stock with CWM and Rooted (GalaxyS2ATTRootZedomax.zip), and his other kernel thread is the 1.6 OC one (GalaxyS2ATT-ZedomaxOCv1.zip).

He did not post a kernel in the OP. There IS a link to a "DownloadAndroidROM.com" page that has a kernel download of his.
Come'on now. He's not the only person to host his code on another site and just provide a link.

---
I'm not trying to start a flame war with anyone, just saying the guy is entitled to share his stuff like everyone else and like always, flash everything and pick the one you like best!

To the OP -- just a suggestion, but maybe to avoid confusion you may want to take the tag [GUIDE] out of the title so that folks know what this is.

Maybe call it something like:

[KERNEL] Zedomax Stock Kernel with Root - Video Instructions Included

Just my $0.02 :D

Just ran through the steps as described and while I did get Superuser and the custom kernel, I still have the stock recovery with Odin download mode when I hold both volume keys and power.

[EDIT] Just realized that I probably didn't pull my USB cable out when trying to get to CWM the first time after rooting. I installed ROM Manager from the Market and flashed from the app and I can now get to CWM from the button combo no problem.

Don't don't don't use CWM through rom manager.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but last I knew it is still known to cause problems.

ROM Manager=NOT YET!

Oh really, no Rom Manager? Don't mean to muck up the thread, but is it safe to use the CWM flash that I did from the app as long as I get to it from the button combo? Also, if you have a link as to what kind of issues this causes I'd appreciate it.

from the sticky in the general section. i'm no dev and i'm sure there is a bunch more out there, but this seems to be a common one

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288112

Getting "E: Signature Verification Failed" in CWM?
One of two things happened:
1) You used ROM Manager even though it is listed in BIG RED LETTERS above. In which case flash codeworkx kernel and this time DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER.
2) Go into CWM click Install Zip from SDCARD>Toggle Signature Verification. Should see "Signature Check: Disabled". If it says "Enabled" then try reflashing kernel in Odin again.
