This is my thread, I'm not going anywhere. You clearly can't handle what I have to say for whatever reason. It's like having a conversation with a 5 year old. You run out of things to say so you resort to name calling and saying go away.

For the mature people here, I'm not going to debate whether this device should be considered a beta device or not, or whether the fact that it's a kickstarter automatically renders it so. I will, however state that I have read every bit of information available on the truesmart and at no point does it state that this is a beta watch. Some of you might argue that it's a given considering it's a kickstarter. Well then, at what point is a kickstarter device deemed ready to release? At hardwares completion? Once an os is installed? Perhaps once the device meets all its advertised specifications? None of the above? We could debate this for days. However, this thread has gotten so far off topic at this point, I'll leave it at that.
Devices are considered officially finalized by most of the industry upon the public announcement of retail launch.

As far as the title of this thread. The apps are in a closed BETA test and not available to the general public.

Can someone please just post the Osmart companion app apk here on XDA even if its BETA or whatever so we can at least TRY it for the meanwhile!

that's all there is to it to keep everybody calm until it gets the final version released in march.

Thank you for the support!

Kickstarter is very clear that they are not an advance order system. They do not exist simply to give big companies exposure. They exist to help first round financing of startups to assist in development, prototyping, and first round production. Many high profile and well funded Kickstarter projects never make any of what they intended. Kickstarter has been very clear that there is no guarantee that anything will come of your investment.

That said, you got your device. You're just unhappy that the expected software features aren't coming as quickly as you'd hoped. As an old-timer on XDA-Developers, let me welcome you. This forum was created long before Androids or iPhones or smartwatches by people who wanted more out of their hardware than the manufacturers gave us.

You want features, if you wanted to vent... You've achieved your goal. If you want to help develop, all you had to do was say so. If all you want is sympathy and validation, you're probably asking the wrong bunch of people.

I see, so you speak for every single person here when you state that everyone is sick of me, it's OK for you to tell me to leave yet when I point out that I started this thread, suddenly it belongs to xda... And I'm narcissistic with faulty logic? Do you even understand those big words or did you just hear them somewhere and thought they might make you sound smart if you used them?

Fortunately, your education is your parents responsibility, not mine. I'm done with you.

Are you this pretentious with everyone who points out your errors?

You don't even know what my education level is.

I feel so bad that you need to exert your superiority on others in such a flamboyant manner.

Boy...this thread sure degenerated to name calling very quickly.

The bottom line is: we funded a company. We did not buy a product. Call it song and dance if you will but there it is. I've been trying to find a way to either BT tether (share internet FROM my phone) or get it to act like a companion but at least I know that calling known contributors and developers of this product 1) uneducated 2) children 3) other names is not going to win me any awards (or get it done any faster). :good:

Let's focus on the issue here. I got the apps on my phone and watch. I was thrilled to see the notifications go to my watch from my phone. Then all of a sudden I can't turn on the Bluetooth in my watch. Sorry if I would like a novice but I'd appreciate any help.

Go to settings/device/accessability and disable quick boot. Reboot. It's a firmware level issue that shows up on all the x201 firmware I've tested so it's not just a TS thing.

I have the TrueSmart Master on my phone, and got the Companion installed on my TS, paired the phone with TS, and enabled the 'OSmart Message Proxy' in Accessibility settings. However, I'm still having difficulty getting any notifications forwarded to the TS, even though I see the 'pings' and 'pongs'.

I think this as a companion watch is far off. Luckily I brought the Galaxy gear I may put this on Ebay and root my gear

We'll see. I own the original Pebble, had an option of buying Pebble Steel and cancelled the pre-order before they could charge my card, after I got the delivery notification. As I see it, TS is the 'real' smartwatch (perhaps, other x201's are as well), and has something going for it.

In thinking down the road it will be a better companion watch right now it's not and I might not want to wait 6 months for that to happen especially if Google and other companies put a watch out that costs under $200

This is the problem with tech today - you look at a powerful laptop - it'll be 40% off 6 months from now.

BT tether does not work
I also get this error in my TS even with BT tethering turned off on my S3, and on top of that it continuously the TS unpairs.

Edit: hmm, on the TS when I went into Settings > Wireless > More > Tethering > Checked BT Tethering, the TS finally connected via BT to my S3 after getting a prompt asking if I would allow Network Access Point from the S3.
