NYC AkA GOTHAM!
I'm selling mine as well. Loki is leaving the development community so I took that as a sign. The Firmware needs to be fixed and the company that actually makes the watch won't release it. I'll wait until Google or some other company makes one or just root my Galaxy Gear.

Yeah if Loki is leaving then that's definitely a sign!!! That's sad and crazy that they won't release a fix...why do you think that is for? You think they have it already or they still have to make it? Where'd you read Loki is leaving?

I'm not feeling very positive about keeping my TS either. Loki's departure is a huge blow to the entire line of x201's. His involvement and backing was a huge part in my making the decision to purchase one of these watches.

It's a real enigma as to what the hell the Umeox technicians are doing!?!? THIS is the exact reason as to why Chinese products get such a poor reputation. It seems that their QT consists of "pushing the power button...if it turns on...ship it...and don't worry about support." I know this is harsh, but im not the only one with this perception.

The most frustrating and confusing part of this is, here Umeox has a eel known and respected dev willing to work for free in order to make their product better...not asking for anything in return...and they have totally failed to utilize and cultivate that relationship. Wha..Huh?

If Umeox was on Nasdaq...once the news of Loki's decision hit the news waves...their stock would be in freefall.

Instead, eBay and PayPal end up the real winners in this train wreck.

Agreed.

Also still waiting on mine. I don't know much about it yet, but I'll be learning and working as much as I can. Root tool seems like a simple thing so far, and I'll probably make it auto-install Loki's patch if I can. Then will get to work on a rom.

Thanks for the links. I had already googled how to get the tones on and have done that. My main problem is I cannot find any "Sound" settings on the Truesmart. The Setup app is very basic. I have found the sound mode (ring / silent / vibrate and volume) but that is it.

---------- Post added at 04:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:20 PM ----------

It has been found. Audio profiles then you click the change settings icon. Thanks.
Still no way to control volume for music like if you use the google play music. The volume settings in the profile doesnt seem to control it. I found one app that gave me the option to have it very quite or max levels.

@lokifishmarz If you don't mind can you link me to it please? Also I wanted to say, Omate upgraded my watch to the 1gb ram/8gb Rom but it doesn't seem to look like I have that much storage space even though it says I have that much on the casing it came in. I hope they didn't give me a lower spaced model.

Wow- what's this I hear @lokifishmarx is leaving the development of this device- I haven't tuned in to this forum for a while and if this is true- it is indeed a sad day.
I must say a big Thanks for what he has already done, though.
What has prompted this move, Loki?
I guess I don't really need to ask this.

What did you pay for? Sorry, but I paid for 1Gb/8Gb and if I don't get it I would feel justified on moaning- if folks paid for lower specs and get what they paid for- whose fault is that?

This is a development forum - as in, no transactions here.

If you want a refund for your watch you contact the person you bought it from.

Where would be the best place to sell the watch?

So I guess you missed the post before yours....?

Don't sell on eBay right now....there's like 8 different people selling their TSs. Just as I thought would happen!

Well that does it for me. This is NOT an "entitlement" post. Just a little disillusioned I guess. I've posted this before and I still feel the same. I like the TS. I really do. It's a fairly solid product but I'm just not finding any actual use for it because I don't feel like popping out the nanoSIM in my phone, putting in the microSIM adaptor, unscrewing the panel on the TS, putting the SIM card in, and screwing the panel back on, crossing my fingers and hoping data connectivity works. And then vice versa when I need to go back to my phone. Despite following several useful guides on the matter, I never did successfully get data to work on the TS. Even after painstakingly changing the APN to match exactly what I have on my phone (in which data works fine). Anyway, it's a super cumbersome process every time I want to use the TS for anything beyond sitting in my house where there's wifi. In its current state, I'm still preferring the Pebble over the TS, especially now with the 2.0 SDK "officially" released with the app store. I'm even considering getting a Steel.

Reading the forums, I know I'm actually one of the lucky few who have actually gotten their watches. The Pebble KS campaign wasn't perfect either but with Omate, it's clusterfk after clusterfk. Intentionally vague marketing-speak after another. Lies upon lies. Meanwhile we who backed the project get to see their "CEO" travel the world and attend trade shows on our dime when that same money could have gone to hire additional developers - instead of hiring a single unfortunate and hardworking German (Kurt). I understand the need for marketing and PR but when you already have a solid fanbase from your record shattering KS campaign...

To be honest, I'm a little disillusioned by Omate's bungling and this may be the last "wearable" project I back on KS.

No this isn't a "I want my money back" or "OMG I got ripped off!" Just disappointing because the TS had so much potential and promise and now as I'm typing this I look to my right and my TS is sitting on my desk collecting dust, the battery on it having died weeks ago and I never bothered to recharge it.

But even still...I holdout with a glimmer of hope that Omate won't completely screw us and fix their firmware and get their sh*t together.

I don't know what to tell you. I have working HSPA+ on two completely different carriers on two different TS's

As far as nobody getting their TS. The only people really posting are those with issues or are still waiting. The number of Patch DL's would indicate that a number of people have received their TS. Either that, or it's a couple people constantly downloading the same file over and over.

But oh well. My Gear probably has less use time than your TS at this point as glorified BT remotes are kinda stupid in my opinion.

Could @lokifish please shed light on the rumour that he is/ isn't giving up Development of the TS? Surely Omate must be keen to get you on the full time development team? Will you be continuing your splendid work for all TS owners benefit- and why on Earth do Omate only have 1 fully paid up working developer?

I kinda do and kinda don't understand the "bluetooth remote" analogy. My Gear is rooted, running null ROM and tethered on my wrist every day. Have full Google apps, etc and can do everything the TS can do except download at 3G speeds. I generally get 2+ days of battery life and run the custom kernel with both cores at 400Mhz min and 1200Mhz max, I receive full notifications for everything and really couldn't live without it.

I'm a TS backer and have received my watch, but until I can use in companion mode it's pretty much useless except as a watch.

What is the purpose of a dedicated companion device. It is to show notifications and remotely control another device. Just like a Logitech Harmony remote would. Remove the master device and you end up with a very limited device. And yes I have a Gear as well. Except for installing Null just so I could use the thing (don't own any Sammy phones), I played with it for a full day about a month ago. Haven't touched it since. It's slower than the TS, More susceptible to damage and extremely limited in it's standalone capabilities.
@haybill

Haven't touched any code since the the "so long" post. Don't intend to either until Mediatek gets there head out of their butts. They think their source so some super secret world changing thing when it's not.

Unfortunately, I completely understand.
I first had experience of MediaTek while Flashing a Custom Recovery and Rooting a Galaxy S3 Clone, about 18 months ago- and it was an eye opener. I totally appreciate all the hard work that you have put in for the TS community and know that you will be sorely missed by one and all.
I am still waiting to receive my 1/8 Dev. Ed. and will, for sure, be using your ROM and patch and anything else that you have cooked up.
Thanks again, Loki.

I don't have a gear, so maybe that's why but I've managed to make my TS fairly useful as a companion. Of course I'm using wifi tethering a lot and relying on the ZeroLemon in my phone to make up the difference. And getting good at writing Tasker scripts to turn tethering on and off at the right times...

Of course, I just got my watch so haven't had time for the depression many on these boards seem to feel to have sunk in yet WRT the TrueSmart.
