So my work increase the value? Interesting. No, not really. Actually ClearD, looks like the Moto campaign all over again for me so there will be plenty of room to stretch your legs. Not like it all that crowded to begin with. :p
I'm not certain there's much I want to do with it yet at all lol. I shared your G+ post, btw! Apparently your work adds a cool $100 per watch!

Need an adventurous volunteer with a TrueSmart in hand, for testing purposes. I've got a one-click root built, and will be adding to it when able, to include full backup, restore, etc. Right now, it's just root, and reboot into recovery. The root doesn't include the recovery image yet, but it will in the next iteration. Just need to know root works first. Anyone interested, shoot me a PM. It'd be nice to enter it into the next hackathon. :) Thanks!

Only TrueSmart model or a AW414 may be useful?

There are at least four board revisions for the TS alone. Pearl has two or three. With the new Callisto 300, iconBIT has two. This should not affect root and low level changes but will affect things that go deeper than that. Bad part is that they are all x201's in the build.prop.
Do they have differing partitions or partition sizes? I figured an insecure boot image would be another good addition later on, but if it only works for the ts, I'll have to be specific about that I suppose. Or include several images and have it flash the proper one based on either an assert or user input...

So far the AW-421 is the only one with a different map.

As far as insecure boot, don't bother. They are all flagged as secure but they are not. Thus the security issue. (unrooted "secure" kernel and a recursive delete of /data soft bricks the device, mount/remount system and you can do the same with /system. All on factory firmware with no changes)

Right now, the U.S. TS requires a different kernel than the 512/4 EU from the other brands. The EU 512/4 firmware I released was after going through 13-14 different firmware releases to find one that worked on all 512/4 models for all brands. Toss in the EU 1/8 and I'll have to start the search all over.

Asserts probably won't work. There is absolutely no distinction between EU 512/4, EU 1/8 and US 1/8 models in the prop except for the OTA flags at the end of the prop and that only denotes EU vs US. That's part of the reason why I still have not released a proper noob proof ROM install with Goo.im OTA support.

Good Lord. So essentially, adb remount and no exploit is even needed. If that's the case, it'll be more of a toolbox than anything. Probably very similar to the one for the motoactv. Return to stock function and all that fun stuff.

This was not possible. Omate said themselves they're main goal was keeping the "watch" size (and I totally agree). The camera initially wasn't even going to be there, but they found a spot they could put one, so they did. I'd rather have the camera where it is than no camera at all. I can get around the placement, and besides, it's a way more stealthy way to take pictures. We don't want to be like the people with iPads where everyone makes fun of us.

Same goes with the band. I see the want to go "look at me!!", but there's also a high demand for the exact opposite. I for one prefer the blending in side of things. If someone is genuinely interested in this stuff, they'll usually notice it regardless (especially if you're using it at the time). Otherwise, flashy bands and large blocky designs create opportunities for douchebags making stupid comments.
100% agree with your second paragraph. I enjoy utilizing the technology but don't want to draw attention with it!

When I said it was full of holes. I wasn't kidding.

First I want to say thank you to all at XDA that put so much heart and effort into the Truesmart project.

I have a Omate Truesmart U.S. Extreme edition smartwatch in route for delivery. After reading throughout this thread and several other threads at XDA concerning the Omate it seems as if this project has hit rock bottom.

Please pardon me for asking such basic questions. And any thoughts and opinions from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

When my watch arrives and assuming it running the original oem rom what kind of experience should I expect? Accordingly from my reads it will not bluetooth companion to my android 4.4.2 based phone, ie will not push outgoing phone calls or receive incoming phone calls, incoming or outgoins sms, or incoming or outgoing email, or other forms of notifications coming from hosting phone?

From what I gather it does somewhat work ok as stand alone if one uses sim card to utilize gsm service like at&t gophone? But even in that scenario data applications only work iffy? Also seems from my reading the Omate has security flaws?

I want to try to keep this post brief. I am at odds! Where do I go from this point? With all the different posts and references to different tutorials on patching this watch I am pretty well confused as where to start

So do I?

1: With help from this community in guiding me to the orderly links in order to modify this watch for better stability, security, & performance.

2: Leave it alone and hope for over the air updates to correct issues.

3: Upon delivery let it have it with a sledge hammer.

As I said earlier in this post, anyone's views would be appreciated.

And as always my thanks to everyone involved.

Wow...just wow.

No, the code doesn't work. Install Google play and services via side load, AndroidPolice had a good article and link for that.

No need to root your device, but be aware that the TrueSmart comes with security set to "none", so you better look into fixing that (Lokifish EnSec patcg ...)
