Omate TS (very first EU versions): How to backup, what F/W is recommended?

This is my first post. Unfortunately, the links to old threads constantly change throughout the years so I can't find where would be the repository of the step-by-step instructions/Firmware/Alltools for specific Omate truesmart versions. Previously, there was one thread by Lokifish with all needed links to all other threads... Now I am lost. Sorry.

What I need is the possibility to make backups and to install the Google play store. Maybe you could also recommend me a custom ROM which is fully compatible and save? and if possible a link to the step-by-step instructions for everything.
