Confidential: Omate X preview (For Backers Only)
Dear All,*On Thursday, we will celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Omate TrueSmart Kickstarter campaign which, thanks to you, was more than ten times the success we anticipated. It was your support that enabled our small team to bring the TrueSmart to the global stage. Thank you very much. We feel a deep responsibility to provide you the best with our limited resources, as a young tech startup.*

For the last twelve months, we have been working hard on setting the smartwatch 2.0 segment and overall Telecom Wearable standards. On top of that, we created a fully wearable version of Android a year before Google launched its own ecosystem.*

The TrueSmart was envisioned as a weekend, adventure and sport watch; the perfect “Outdoor mate” to keep you connected where you can’t carry a smartphone. The TrueSmart was essentially designed to target people who have an active lifestyle, allowing them to have a fully featured Android smartwatch connected to the telecom network.*

*Introducing the Omate X (just between you and me)*

The TrueSmart was designed for the 10% of our time during of which we partake in outdoor activities. Now, I am pleased to announce our new model - the Omate X - which will take care of the other 90%.*

More than a smartwatch, the Omate X is a fashion statement. It will allow you to enjoy all the perks of a companion smartwatch in a stylish way. It is designed to push your notifications from your smartphone to your wrist via Bluetooth.*

Only backers can view this update. You are the very first ones to hear about the Omate X. Official announcement will be released tomorrow.

Here are the Top 5 features you need to know about the Omate X:*

- *Beautiful:* premium metal look and feel; comfortable to wear every day, standard removable 22mm straps. (Genuine leather strap by default)*

- *Simple:*No frills! Clean and simple user interface. Less is more.*

*- Functional:* Works with both Android and iOS: shows notifications for incoming calls, social media updates, messages, reminders, and more.*

- *Long battery life:*Up to a week on the wrist with our 400mAh battery*

- *Affordable:*preorders will start on www.omate.com (http://www.omate.com) from September 1st to September 30th at US$129 but since you are family, you may get it for just US$99 until September 5th (using the following code: LUTETIA)*

The first 1,000 pre-orders will be engraved with an “Early Bird / Limited Edition” serial number.*

We hope you are as excited as us about our step into the companion segment. Thank you all again for your great support during our first year.*

We are looking forward to continuing the adventure with you through the Omate X.*

Stay tuned and see you on September 1st on www.omate.com (http://www.omate.com)*

Best regards,*

Laurent & the Omate Team

After waiting 6 months to get my Omate and with absolutely no support from them and a major crappy software I don't think I will invest one more dime in this company. Basically they used us to get money to create a watch that does not respect the promises they put on the kickstarter, and now they want to ask us to buy a second product that is suppose to be 10x better, come on Omate, you really think we are that stupid???
- No support
- Software is crap, dont even support syncro with your phone
- At start the watch was suppose to be way thinner, then they changed the design
- Was suppose to be water resistant, but if you insert a sim card or sd card then you lose water resistant feature
- Battery life is very bad, watch dont even last 1 day, and now they claim the new watch will keep up for a week, lol
- Laurent used our money to go around the world and have fun while we were waiting on update that was almost inexistant

In the end we paid for a product and got crap instead.

Good luck getting people to send you more money for dreams.

I have been a mostly happy TS user for a while. But just recently I lost my charger, and Omate is just "sorry, we're not shipping chargers right now, we'll let you know".

So, as much as I have gotten used to wearing a smartwatch and I need/want to replace my now dead TS, I'd be very unlikely to spend more $$ on Omate until they start taking care of their user base first.

I've read somewhere that simvalley chargers look really the same and can be found online.

I thought it was a joke at first. Speaking of jokes, did anyone who won the hackathon get their "individually numbered" VID watch yet, lol
