Just tested, most things are working great, but a few bugs I can see are the known camera, screen record (freezes entire screen/system, hard reboot required) and Documents FC's upon launch, it actually rebooted my device after repeatedly trying to launch it.

Also with the default camera, it doesn't have the same options as CM does so you can't change the video codec to MPEG4 which works a lot more smoother than H.263 or H.263 (Forgot which now but CM has 3 codec options) which I guessing this camera defaults to on this ROM given that it's video recording is very stuttery on playback.

Other than that it's working excellent :good:

Why isn't voltage control supported ?? I even tried flashing black hawk kernel as it is the only one put there as yet... Is there any workaround to increase minimum CPU voltage value ???... I want to change from 200mhz to 600 MHz... Plz help

I thank you and I ask to be educated.
What is the difference between Slim and Omni rom? I've read threads, but I cant find the answer.

Slim is totally different ROM with some unique features like real dark slim mode. It has also different philosophy. Slim is really slim (check the file sizes of the nightlies) but features so many modding options that Xposed framework modules often aren't necessary. It is also fast.

Saying this, I am myself big fan of both Omni and Slim (and also of Carbon) and just described here an UI feeling of Slim, as you probably know Omni already well.

Thanks for this awesome rom Andi, truly one of the best my eyes have seen and i've seem alot of them trust me.
Been using it for a few days and so far here it goes:
Running smooth and it's gorgeous the omni bar a must,

Mandatory:

What is missing for our device is sound boom effects , sound is a little dim and quiet, our stereo speakers need some serious looking into.
Lights and feedback from menu keys is missing, (the back and menu button).
Google launcher built in rom as it can't be installed keep asking to clear default launcher.
Samsung keyboard as its awesome.

Secondary:

Is it possible if at all in kitkat some kind of sd apps support?

Ill keep testing and giving feedback loved your rom truly amazing work.

And a special thank you sir!, for the IO in your rom, and the multiuser feature.

This tablet as serious slow down issues when writing to disk.
Had at least. :good:

Samsung should keep an eye on you.

@Android-Andi:

Thanks for bringing omni to the tab 3.
Two things i'd like to know:

a) Would you consider updating this to the latest omni sources? I do not mean 5.0 but the latest 4.4.4. instead.

b) Would you offer a build script so that one can compile omnirom with the sources from your github repo?

I would appreciate if you consider it.

Regards,
Thomson

OmniROM
Android 4.4.4
for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0

Unofficial Builds by Android-Andi

I used @sevenup30 ´s Omni-Thread as base for this Thread!

What is Omnirom?
A new Android custom rom has been announced at the BABBQ (Big Android BBQ) by @XpLoDWilD, @Chainfire, @Dees_Troy & Team. For more information go to omnirom's website

I used @ketut.kumajaya ´s CM 11 source as base for my Setup!
Big thanks to him! Also Take a look on the Credits!

I don´t own a Tab 3 - i can not test if the Rom works! Use on your own risk!

Code:
#include
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 * If you dont like this rom, Stay away from this thread!
 */
WHAT IS NOT WORKING?

  • Same as in CM11 - maybe more or less :p
  • Screenrecorder not working

You will tell me more :)

How To Flash:
For Android 4.4.X:
Make sure you're running latest PhilZ Touch unofficial repack from NEXT kernel thread

You´ll find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47342530&postcount=2

  • Download the Rom for your device and copy to your Tablet
  • Reboot into Recovery
  • Wipe Data Factory Reset
  • format /system
  • (Recommend, but make sure you placed your files on your MicroSD Card! your internal storage get formatted!)
    format /data (better "format /data and /data/media")
  • flash Rom
  • flash 4.4.x GApps
  • flash SuperSu from Cainfire
At first boot, you must skip all settings and go to Settings / language & input / default input / and disable hardware keyboard

Thanks @Android-Andi for bringing the ROM here. Hope that they would be a update towards the latest source for 4.4.4. . Hopefully the developer can have a reply on this. Thanks again.
