You can use TWRP to flash PhilZ :laugh:Hi....
I would like to try this ROM, but does it really have to come from latest PhilZ Touch unofficial repack from NEXT kernel thread ?
Indeed, I tried to follow step by step on that thread but alwayw failed due to the error while trying heimdall thing.
It is said that I am missing some file MSCR100 (something like that), which I have tri3d to solve this by installing the missing file.
But still unsucessed.
When trying to go to TWRP and install the ROM directly, it is failed as my device was recognized as a tab 8 wifi (I am using the 3G version of device here).
Please advice, and many thanks....
first, thank you for the advice. If you are already rooted just flash the recovery with flashify from the play store. No computer needed or Heimdall.
sent from a buggy xda app by some miracle
i tried to use twrp to flash philz. You can use TWRP to flash PhilZ
dear zibrah3ed,Recovery.IMG is the file to flash. Unzip the flashable zip and point flashify to recovery.img.

i am currently on stock rom.Is the ROM already on your SD card? Flash it and see if that fixes thee boot to recovery.

i flashed philz over twrp as adviced by ketut previously.Did you flash the recovery.img to boot or recovery?
You have 3 options at this point.
+. Flash the new ROM and see if this fixes the boot issue. The negative is you will lose all your apps and data. Pictures and files will remain but all apps will be deleted.
+. Download a stock ROM and push to device with adb from computer. As before you will lose all data.
+. Odin or Heimdall a stock ROM onto your device losing all data again.but this time pictures and files too.
+. Adb push ketuts kernel onto device and flash it. I suggest trying this first.

mmm....it seemed that i flashed the wrong philz touch, as i was initially flashed philz touch blackhawk (without selinux suffix)@andikasaja Reflash PhilZ Touch (with selinux suffix) and then directly flash latest NEXT kernel. NEXT kernel don't care about your ROM version, it boot everything. Good luck!
Flash PhilZ Touch recovery and then directly flash NEXT kernel, reboot into recovery and then flash Omni. For dual boot, discuss it in NEXT kernel thread.mmm....it seemed that i flashed the wrong philz touch, as i was initially flashed philz touch blackhawk (without selinux suffix)
okay.
will try following :
- reflash philz touch with selinux suffix
- flash blackhawk-next-kernel-0.6-t311
- flash new rom (i would like to try cm-11-20140103-UNOFFICIAL-lt013g or maybe omni)
please advice if i missed something.
thanks again...
my bad....Flash PhilZ Touch recovery and then directly flash NEXT kernel, reboot into recovery and then flash Omni. For dual boot, discuss it in NEXT kernel thread.
I start it over, flashed philz touch, flash NEXT kernel, and flash the ROM.my bad....
as i am too excited, seemed that i had do it in a wrong sequence.
i reflash philz touch, and did not directly flash the NEXT kernel.
i go to philz touch first, and then flash the NEXT kernel from philz touch
now my tab stuck on samsung galaxy tab3 logo
Factory data reset.I start it over, flashed philz touch, flash NEXT kernel, and flash the ROM.
And now my tab stays on bootloop, galaxy tab3 logo and cm logo.
Any advice, please...
