thanks msav, I am thinking about throwing it on my tab. I am using kasty 3.2.1, and my only real concern with the stock firmware is the issue with the external SDcard not being writable. Is that still an issue with this firmware release?

Or is there a way for me to change it from read-only to readable-writable?

I went ahead and flashed this new firmware. Guess I didn't realize it doesn't come prerooted.
Is there an easy way to root?

I may just copy out the system/app folder and go back to previous 4.2.2 firmware and update the system .apks.

Happy to see this tablet getting further development.
Also glad they sticking with 4.2.2 and not trying to get 4.3 or 4.4 running on this device.

BTW Onda has announced KIT KAT will be released in December for our devices.

This new update is working great.
A few apps that would not work on last update, now work.
Volume is fixed also - very loud - nice!
New boot screens are nice touch.
I bought a new Ipad and then turned around and sold it. Prefer this pad over crapple.
Hope kitkit will run on this.

before I take the plunge. do you mind telling us, what rom this is derived from. Is this from onda's v819 beta release.

I know you said ART was not working is there anything else that is not working, What kernel is this using or is it using a new kernel for kitkat.

It's using kernel from v819mini kitkat release. As far as I checked everything is working expect ART and panorama mode in Camera.

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has tried youtube leanback feature on this tablet. I was thinking of making my tablet a media box. I noticed that as I pair the tablet with my phone and select a video, it does not play automatically and I have to tap play button each time on tablet (which basically cancels the leanback usage). Has anyone else tried it as well ? what can be the solution ?
