I went a total different way as usual.
Installed stock BTU > updated to Beta 1 > updated to Beta 2 > USB Debugging / OEM Unlock > Download Mode > TWRP > Boot to TWRP > format data >
Flash No Verity zip , [email protected] , magisk canary zip > reboot > Winning

I guess as I upgraded via FOTA, Magisk Zip was all I needed.

I assume you meant wipe data rather than format data because I followed your guide to the word and ended up having to reflash everything. My bad for not double checking, though!:laugh:

Thanks for sharing the no verity zip @CFKod

So i finally managed to get root \0/
what i did was

-update to beta 2
-flash twrp in odin
-wipe - format data
-reboot to recovery
-flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-samsung-1.0.zip
-flash [email protected]
-flash magisk-release.zip (which is canary).
-reboot

it rebooted like 2 or 3 times after that, but it worked.
i was using dm-verity 6.1 before but that one doesnt work properly.
I also tried just magisk and [email protected] v1 and v2 in every combo available but never got that to work.

I do have some problem with Samsung account not being able to connect though, is this a known problem ?

It worked for me without dm-verity, only alucard2.
I had the same prop with samsung account.
My workaround now is, delete in TWRP with the manager "Samsung Account" and "Galaxy Pass".
After this open a Samsung Thing like " GalaxyWearable" and the Store screen will coming up and you can signed in.
Thats for me the only working way atm after trying many different things....

@whitelightning76 @Oel how do you not lose your ROM & all data by choosing wipe > format? I did that yesterday and I ended up losing all my data, including the ROM (thankfully I had backups) and I had to use ODIN to reflash firmware then ADB Beta 1 > Beta 2.
Should I follow your steps without actually using the "format" option?

If you want to root , you will need to format otherwise it will not see the data. so basicly you will loose all your data yes. The rom is still on there though since you dont format System or any other partitions. its the big button on the right after you press wipe in the main menu.

This is the magisk patched kernel for the 960 Beta.
Flash it through twrp in "boot".
Flash the zip again and boot.
If it doesnt work than go back to twrp and flash the magisk uninstaller zip, than the patched kernel and it should boot.

IMPORTANT!
THE FIRST BOOT AFTER THE MILTI DISABLE ZIP NEEDS BETWEEN 3 TO 5 MINUTES!

no matter what i do, i cant get it to work...

after i flashed TWRP, I formated /data
after that it does'nt matter what or in which order i flash (no_verity and/or Multi.disabler) i always get an error in TWRP " /odm couldn't be mountet " or something simillar.
Phone boots but i cant set a pin

Someone has an idea how to solve that??? Pls i have no clue what i'm doing wrong...

You must flash the magisk patched kernel. The link is in the last post.
Than magisk.zip than multi disabler
