As the title suggests I want to upgrade to a oneplus 5 but don't know if I should wait for the six
Personally wouldn't buy another 1+ device, you buy the Oneplus on launch day like i did, obsolete in 5 months, buy the 5T, obsolete come the next quarter.

The 6 will more than likely be followed by the 6T, i'm tired of this, plus the lack of OIS is something i'm never going to commit to again.

So for me, neither, buy the HTC 12 or wait for the next pixel, either way it's not a 1+.

But that's me :D

PS: if from the 6 onwards it's going to be 1 per year and they fix things like the lack of OIS then yea i'll consider it, but honestly they've burnt their bridges with me at the moment, so long as HTC can actually put out a device with anything close to the battery i get on my 1+5 i'll be happy.

Don't stress! They probably will release Oneplus 5Z in the next week! (Sarcasm)
No but depending on how urgent, wait for the next one. Else go for a 5T
It's not as urgent but I really miss stock android and the ability to root and install roms which is a deal breaker for me since I have a device which can't be rooted.

But HTC is a dying company to be honest ?
Lol are you sure mate ? That's been said for some time and yet they're still here :D not only that but have you actually lived with a HTC phone? When was the last one you owned ? They're absolutely rapid, there is literally nothing bad about the latest phones at all (ish)

The ish is for the one flaw that they always put in, usually the battery but it's the small imperfections which make it have character, the camera has been superb in the last few devices, I've had every flagship bar two the one X and the M8, every other I've had and they've all been amazing bar the one fault ;)

I didn't like the 11 so went with the 1+ but the one thing I'd loved to have had is the camera which is up there with the pixels, the HTC 12 if rumours are to be believed then it'll be a beast, ois, great camera, 845, lot of memory, probably an SD slot.

5/5T are great phones. you won't be disappointed with anything about them (maybe up to 2-3yrs).
there are some concerns with their cameras, but in my opinion, you can take some great shots w/ them, comparable to S8/Note8.
Best Performance, Good Display, Good Cameras, Great Selfie, And a lot of community support... What else you need!?

Missing ois, if you've got a tripod all the time the yep it's great, but the lack of ois means it's a deal breaker for me, I didn't think it'd be that bad. Never again man.

As already stated, depends on urgency, features and price. I personally would buy a 5T and not worry about the 6 so much. This is because the 5\5T is fast enough and since you are going to mess around with custom roms and kernels, the ported GCam with portrait mode makes world of a difference to the picture quality. However, even with out GCam, I dont really care too much about picture quality, I dont really take that much pictures anyway. The value for money is already here with the 5\5T and from current trend with OnePlus, the 6 will most likely be more expensive.

To be honest (you would of heard this a million times now), its all about what you want out of your phone and how much you willing to pay for it. There is no one phone that is best for everyone. The thing I will say is one of the best value for money phone is the OnePlus 5T and you will probably get the majority agreeing with that statement.
