If you want to go the tempered glass route, it's best to keep an eye out for the full adhesive like whitestone over the ones that have the adhesives on the edge. The edge ones always had issues with detecting finger prints and in the case of the optical ones like the Pro 7, the scanner light reflects off the underside of the glass instead of my fingers due to the gap and completely throws off the reader. The full adhesive ones do not suffer from this issue.

I just bought a UV Glass off ebay for 4 bucks. Installed it and FingerPrint unlock works. Thats another option

I'm assuming since it's an optical fingerprint sensor that screen protectors won't cause many issues compared to Samsung's new fingerprint sensor.
