I just got mine as well. I have to work shortly so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to unlock.

Might need some help with that as I've never unlocked a boot loader before. I'll do my homework though.
It's easy to do. I'm sure if you search the threads on the OnePlus 7 Pro forums, you'll fly right through it. Just a few commands via adb. If you need help, lemme know.

I only backed up some stuff in twrp (not everything).
Then just fastboot the flash-all. This is the version I used. No mobile connection but it saw my sim.

10.5.5-GLOBAL OnePlus8Oxygen_15.O.14_OTA_014_all_2004262110_d8167-FASTBOOT

Sorry to bud in, do you know if any of the kernels for this phone can be flashed via fastboot? Like the cleanslate kernel released. I have just migrated back to android.

I also received my unlock code today... what's the best first step forward for root. Would like to go to Global Rom if possible. TIA

Quick question. Just got my plus8 unlocked today but if I enter in even one wrong key in the code, will it tell me immediately or would it wait a week then tell me? That would be very irritating

Ok I am on international, haven't tested the kernel but flashed the no limit rom and works great.

You can boot to TWRP and flash magisk it will root on T-Mobile.

In TWRP make sure to back up your boot, and modem.

When you flash the global you'll lose signal , you can get it back by restoring the modem in TWRP.

Not exactly unlock news, but, there is an update available for the T-Mobile version of the OnePlus 8.
Only features named specifically is the addition of 5G on bands 2,66 & the addition of Google Live Caption.

Just figured I'd mention it here vs starting another thread, since most T-Mobile users are following this thread anyway....

Wait so how did you guys get sim unlock if the phone isn't paid off yet? Did you contact through the app or on the phone? I want to convert to international dangit

As suggested by @matteosaeed I went to T-Mobile's Twitter help account. There I talked to an agent and told him that I was developing a couple apps and needed my SIM unlocked for testing.

They unlocked it for me, no questions asked. I got it on the first try although there are times you might have to try a couple more than once.

This is a link to T-Mobile Help on Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/tmobilehelp?lang=en

    Good luck!

So now we just play the waiting game?

Yep. Sadly. Contacted Oneplus multiple times and their support don't know what I mean by bootloader then they refer me to the existing page, telling me to contact T-mobile etc.. I keep checking if the page has been updated to include the 8 evert few hours.

Also, the page that has the OP firmwares hasn't been updated to include the 8 series. Don't know what they're up to.
