Hi all,

I've a device with unlocked bootloader and stock rom and today I've received the latest full OTA.
This OTA will wipe all data (updater alert me to make a backup)!?!?!

Thanks
Michele

Nope it won't wipe your data. Install through stock updater. It's an standard message. After update I would only suggest to wipe your cache in stock recovery. My 2 cents, and if you are rooted let it install but don't reboot yet. Go to Magisk, instal Magisk (direct install) open Magisk again and install to slot and then reboot, profit.

For as far i know, it only wipes your data or messing up with your data if you upgrade from let's say Android10 to 11 or for huge system changes and updates. But with this latest update 10.5.5 you're good to go;)

Are you sure it explicitely told you your data will be wiped?
You should have seen one of the above messages, which is a standard warning since manufacturer can't be 100% sure update will apply correctly on devices which are not in stock condition.
<string name="ota_oem_unlock_detected_alert">OEM unlock is detected. System will begin downloading the full upgrade package. To ensure your data integrity, please perform a backup.</string>
<string name="ota_root_detected_alert">Root is detected, system will begin downloading the full upgrade package. To ensure your data integrity, please perform a backup. Your device will be un-rooted once the upgrade is completed.</string>

You are right... seems to be a standard message (my wife tell me that her oneplus 5t has the same behavior).

Thanks
Michele

Thanks mate for these. Oneplus download through the device was apocalyptically slow and these mirrors sorted me out in just a few minutes, cheers

Hi. Updated to 10.5.5 earlier this week. Since then, I've noticed I don't get WhatsApp notification pop-ups any more. When I go to settings in the WhatsApp app, it says notifications are no longer available on my version of Android.
I presume this is just a bug. Anyone else having the same issue?

I received the OTA and update it to 10.5.5. The front camera video seems to be darker/dimmer compared to before. Is anyone else facing this issue?
How can I downgrade to 10.5.4? Can I just download the zip and flash it via the updater? I am on stock without root by the way. Will it cause any data loss?

Sorry for delayed answer, no idea. If you already updated and that this is still an issue, file a bug report at https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/ so that OnePlus will investigate.

You can't downgrade by using ZIPs with local update (unless they're specifically meant for that) due to Android rollback protection. You however should be able to use MSM tool from my other thread to downgrade.
