Online connection

Why does my phone occasionally automatically connect to the internet? Before I go sleep, I check to ensure that I am not online, then when I get up in the morning, I check phone and I see that I have been connected right through the night for like 8 hrs !! . This is costing me money. Why does phone connect by itself? Is it looking for updates ? How do I turn this off so only I can initiate an online connection? Please help

You may post some details like used Programs, ROM, etc...

BTW: it is always safe to sichtch on flight mode during the night...

Installing monaco nodata , you will ensure to stop undesired data trafic , but take care if you uninstall it , remember to leave all conected .
