Only Local Themes?

Since I bought my Mate 8 L29 model, I can only get "Local themes".
When I had mate 7, with Lolilop ROM, on "Theme" app I was able to download other themes, organized by "category", "Most relevante", etc...

Is there any reason for this? Or, can we do anything to get download function back to mate 8?

I never had even with initial stock rom. (now I am on Kangvip rom).

you have to be registered with Huawei ID, right?
which is your country of registation?
On Mate 7, I could se all the options but to be able to download I usedchange locale app and registered ID as being on USA or China and it worked. But on Mate 8 i can't even see the other options...

I never registered.

But more strange, i forgot to tell above, is that yeasterday I connected again my mate 7 (untouched since i bought mate 8,with same rom and settings) and now it does not display the other options either

I sent an email to huawei, i hope they can provide some help

I verified a 3Gb/32Gb model in a shop, a few hours ago, and it also only displays Local Themes. I wonder if this is some restriction introduced for some countries...?

The point is:

Previously on Mate 7 i could see the menu with all options, but when trying to download I was redirected to Huawei Cloud registration, and that service is not available in Portugal. Therefore, I used an app named change locale and pretended to be in a country where that service was available (US or RPC), and after logging in on cloud service I restore location in Portugal

Now, with mate 8 that menu simply is not displayed!! I don´t have other options rather than Local Themes. today I picked up a phone of your model (3gb/32gb) (on a Media Markt store) and the menu was the same as mine
I also confirmed with my previous mate 7, yesterday, and the "all options menu" is not available anymore. So I think maybe there are some restrictions in my Country, and pretending to be in another country does not work anymore

It's something really strange...
You're the first to refer this problem and anyway Portugal is a true EU country, never heard about being restricted or blacklisted by somebody in some field...

Have you tried changing the language to some else?

I think problem is not ROM version, but any Type of Country police, because either the mate 8 o sal today on store and my former mate 7 have original Eu roms and only show local themes

I will go through that process again, but I think that huawei found a way to de-activate false "locations". when I login on web there is no problem. But when I try to login from mobile, message I get is that SIM card is not compatible, or something like that, because Huawei cloud service is not available worldwide. This is why I used to fake location to US or China, but that is not working anymore

I have just checked all huawei models on sale on MediaMarkt store, and now Themes app only displays "My Themes" option

Finally I got it!! ( by accident, as usual )
Whe I fresh flashed last B168 KangVip ROM I noticed that all theme options where available. But just after I configured some K-setting those options disapeared again!
Then I tried and found that in order to keep all options menu (on theme app) I had to keep Lunar calendar on (desktop and lockscreen settings). Desktop weather lunar can be switched off.

The only problem is that some chinese caracters are displayd above lockscreen clock.

Solution: switch lunar calendar off, to get rid of chinese caracters on day to day use, and switch it on only when you want to check some new themes!

the behaviour of themes app is really strange. Mine works with full options only if I leave lunar calendar selected

I only see the local themes on my phone. I am on international version (L29). How do I login with Huawei ID? I was never asked to create the ID during setup.
