Setting:
Model: Pixel XL(corr), Config camera HDR+: Nexus6 HDR+ Auto, HDR+ parameters: Super High, in Advanced all HDR option are active.
Every time that I shot with HDR+ off, the option HDR+ RAW+JPEG will automatically disable in advanced setting.

Is the HDR+ processing logic remaining the same with each upgrade? I mean with each version bump, is the HDR processing being updated ?

I activate the HDR+ RAW+JPEG
I take some photos with HDR active, the DNG was saved
I take one photo without HDR
Now the option HDR+ RAW+JPEG will be automatically deactivated
I take a photo with HDR, but the DNG isn't saved, I need to reactivate HDR+ RAW+JPEG

As I said, I mention you on the link you gave me, here is only for OP3 / OP3t (there are other people who ask me for help for their device before you, OP5, MI6, Redmi Note 4) so with a little patience and use the version that works for your device while waiting thank you

HDR+ processing matches the google device(Config camera HDR+), the new config does not work for OP3

The RAW HDR + function of this app is complex and works with pixel drivers, we have a simple driver for our cameras that supports RAW, I had to cheat to replace the codes that are missing .
if you use Raw with Hdr + activate it, otherwise use No Hdr + for a simple Raw.
I would look at a code to reactivate it.

it tries to process motion photo when we select that config, but crashes the app instantly

Trying to process a Motion photo causes the app to crash.
It detects the scene, the motion photos icon turns red and the process starts but the app crashes.

I also have the issue getting motion photos to work, every different setting I try it goes red then crashes
