Thanks A LOT. I thought that my brand new phone was bricked by me but this tutorial saved my ass.
PS: For those who are getting the "No valid trg ID" just switch from Target to TMO on the combobox besides the ENUM button on the MSM software.

A question: what I was wanting to do is to "internationalize" my TMobile version. Like this:
Does anyone have the OnePlus 7T version of it?

Thanks

So my device doesn't show up at all as QH_USB BULK etc etc. I have already installed the OnePlus drivers for the phone so it shows up under Android Phone > Android ADB Interface > OnePlus Android Bootloader Interface

What do I need to do to get this to work?
Isn't there a way for me to use ADB to flash a stock rom to my device the same way I flashed this incorrect one?
(using adb/fastboot commands)

OnePlus 7T
Thanks this tool saved my bricked 7T today...
One suggestion with the instruction:

Instructions:

1.Power your device off
2. To get into Qualcomm EDL mode, keep pressing volume up AND volume down keys (do not press Power key or your device will boot into Fastboot mode), connect USB, Launch MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe, CHANGE Dropdown box selection from Target to TMO (for T Mobile devices)
3. Click on Enum to be sure your device is detected and press Start, you can now safely release volume up and volume down keys
4. Wait ~300 seconds

Enjoy your brand new device

Is this truly how to connect the phone to the PC ... turn it off, hold the volume keys, plug in the USB cable, then run the executable?

So I'm curious if this tool is actually working. I have under the Index a 1. Under the Status of Connection an N/A.
That is all I have. Is this suppose to be this way to start this tool?

I change the Target Box to TMO, I pick the ENUM but nothing happens.
So I pick Start.

I then get Status of Communication as Waiting for device.
And I get Status of Last Communication as Waiting for device.

There is nothing else happening anywhere. I wait several minutes (20+) with absolutely nothing happening & when I pick Stop I get a Download stopped under the Communication as Waiting.

Is the Progress of Download suppose to be showing some kind of status bar or does it remain blank throughout?

In essence, what am I suppose to be seeing with this tool? For the past hour now, it has done absolutely nothing.

It looks like your device isn't detected as being in 9008 mode, check if Windows Update lists an optional update "Qualcomm HS-USB etc". If so, install it and get back in EDL again to try to perform flash.

Windows "found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008
The system cannot find the file specified"

Suggestions?

Try to extract https://download.windowsupdate.com/..._fba473728483260906ba044af3c063e309e6259d.cab using 7-zip and install driver manually, the file to select should be qcser.inf
I think I mis-spoke in my haste to complete this. Let me try again.
I downloaded & extracted the cab file from the windows link of the OP. Upon attempting to install the driver, I received the following message:
1631478279662.png

So, yes you are correct in that I do not have the correct driver for my unit to be recognized on my windows machine.

I then proceeded to google "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" to which there are several sites offering downloads & suggestions on how to install.
Unfortunately, most of these 'other' drivers fall under the same message, "Windows encountered a problem ... ". They still have the 'qcser.inf' file but many are engrossed with other files that are less than enticing.
These & other downloads that give:
1631478438699.png

So basically, I need to figure out how to fix my windows PC before I can fix my 7T.

I know there was a question earlier in this thread asking if this tool is available for Linux &/or Ubuntu for that matter. I'd like to reiterate the question as I'd prefer Ubuntu as well.

I don't know where to go with this now. How do I install this driver when "The system cannot find the file specified"?
Now I ask, any suggestions?

FOR ANYONE STUCK ON PARAM PRELOAD, OR MSM STUCK. CLICK TARGET BOX AND CLICK TMOBILE. THIS WORKED FOR ME :)

Hi everyone, similar to the previous threads for
OP3, OP3T, OP5, OP5T, OP6, OP6T, OP7, OP7PRO, regular OP7T and OP7TPRO here is the EDL package (also known as MSM tool or unbrick tool) that can revive a bricked OnePlus 7T bought from T-Mobile.
It can also be used to rollback your phone to a previous release of OOS.

You can download the following versions:

    ANDROID 10:

It will only work with T-Mobile variant HD1907

    Instructions:

    Power your device off
Maintain volume up and volume down keys to get into Qualcomm EDL mode.
    Launch MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe.

    Specific to 10.0.7 and 10.0.8

On the login prompt select "Other" in the dropdown menu and click on Next.
Wait a few seconds until main window shows up.

Click on Enum to be sure your device is detected and press Start.
    Wait ~300 seconds
    Enjoy your brand new device

    FAQ:

My device isn't detected when I click on "Enum" button

Go to device manager and make sure your phone shows up as QDLOADER 9008.
If it shows up as QHUSB_BULK, it means Qualcomm driver wasn't installed automatically by Windows Update. Download the latest one from Microsoft website at http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._fba473728483260906ba044af3c063e309e6259d.cab (source https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=qualcomm hs usb 9008 ) and install it manually by right clicking on QHUSB_BULK and selecting "Update driver software" and "Browse my computer for driver software" to where you downloaded CAB file.

MSM tool is stuck on "Param pre-processing"

Ensure you're using the Qualcomm drivers linked in first part of this FAQ.

    What is SMT Download mode?

Just don't try to unlock that mode, it will wipe your IMEI and your Widevine certificate if you use it.

Did they successfuly flash your phone with the attached file? Their level 2 techs are complete idiots and keep trying the wrong software. So is it correct this time?

So another little update. I managed to convert(a dirty way) and it involves at least being bootloader unlocked. I waited a week and got my code and immediately did this. This method isn't released yet but if you guys are interested in testing and have some skills in edl and know your way around python or adb please PM ME. We can get you into our testing group temporarily and try some methods to get you converted. This will be per discretion by me. If I don't think you can help I'm NOT going to add you.

I've heard this is what we've been waiting for to convert to International firmware. I see above that it can't be used for that. What needs to happen before we can convert?
Lots of testing. This year's convert process has be a tad bit harder due to OnePlus trying to make things a tad more difficult for us. Just stay patient and it will come soon in some form of manner.
