Hi folks, I think this is common sense but someone sent me a personal message stating that I broke their phone because of my rom. They flashed my crdroid based rom, rebooted to recovery and then flashed my lineage based rom. NO!!!!!!!! I thought this was obvious but apparently not. You pick one and only flash the one version then reboot to system and your done unless you want root. Just clarifying this so no one else tries this. Apparently by my report, it causes a crash dump and you have to MSM back. This was user error. I test my builds before I publish them to prevent such things but if you don't follow instructions, things like this will happen. I have crash dumped my phone in the past but never published the build. And also, they both include mind the gapps minimal so do not flash gapps because that will cause problems also.

Must have something to do with the included gapps package. That's the only thing that changed from last build. I'll look into it.
Also having screen flickering. Additionally, having issues on boot with static screen. Same with recovery. I'm assuming the boot.img included in the build is messing something up on the phone.

Initially extracted boot, dtbo, and vendor boot, then flashed those. Gave me a static screen. Then went back to fastboot and flashed firmware flasher, formatted, then sideload 2/05 build. After stock oneplus boot image, screen is static until I lock screen, then unlock again.

Thank you so much for this rom, it is really amazing.. I just have a question, what would be the steps to take to flash magisk? Do I need TWRP or can it be done with the current recovery? If so, what would also be the correct way of flashing TWRP?

Thanks again

You can use the a12/a13 twrp located on other thread. You can also use custom recovery also if you want. With twrp, you would boot twrp first.
fastboot boot twrp.img
(or whatever the name of the twrp file is.)
When you enter twrp, you would select install current twrp if you want to keep it permanently. With my crDroid version with gapps, you can put magisk.apk on your phone and install it with twrp. On my lineage version with gapps, you can't install it through twrp, you will need to either sideload it with twrp or custom recovery. What I think is easier to install twrp permanently is to sideload magisk in custom recovery and then use the twrp.zip file from that thread and install it as a magisk module to install twrp. That will also install twrp. Then you can install magisk again through twrp to have both root and twrp.

Perfect!!! Thank you so much, I thought that was the way of doing it but it is my first time using this ROM and I just didn't wanna screw it up, I appreciate your prompt answer and the hard work you've put to make this awesome ROM, I love it. Oh one last question, is there any way of enabling the seconds on the status bar?

Yes, settings, crDroid settings, clock & date

Alright so everything was fine until I installed a LP modded version of Play Store... Now I broke the play store, any suggestions on how to get it back to working?

I can't and won't provide support for illegal software which lucky patcher is to get it working. That also goes for custom kernels, which is the case for most developers anyway. My only fix is to do a clean install because dirty flashing I can guarantee will not fix the problem.

I appreciate the answer, I uninstalled LP and reinstalled a regular playstore apk, it still won't work, so there's no way of flashing gapps to make it work without having to do a clean install?

Question bro! Does dirty flashing replace the playstore app to the default one? I know it's a weird question but I have a modded playstore and I just didn't want it to get replaced
From what I hear, it won't replace it but it will cause problems but really I don't know and won't support alterations. I can only suggest trying it and if its a issue, then do a clean install and mod it again

Maybe an ignorant question but I'll ask anyway... If I understand correctly, we can do OTA updates with your ROM, from what I understand is that we would see a new update under the Settings/"updater" tab like when using stock firmware or does it just mean that we can download the update and update manually through there? Reason I ask is because I haven't seen any of the updates come through there since I've had the ROM and every time I open it I get a "no new updates found" message. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!!
First off, its not ignorant to ask a question that's not answered, although I think the OP does state to sideload. I didnt take this as ignorant at all. I've been working crazy hours and I haven't been able to update. The latest version is 02/25. On updates, just reboot to twrp or crDroid recovery, whatever one your using, and install update and boot back to system. If you want root, you will have to go back to recovery and sideload magisk again since the update overwrites the boot.img. I can look into getting a OTA server, so what your asking is feasable, its just that it will take much longer to update that way. Its much quicker to sideload updates on any custom ROM.

Thank you for the response. Btw can you ask the devs? It's fine if they don't gave the information. It was there on crdroid before moto dolby was added.
I will send the dev a PM and see

My GitHub account posted for WatchDogs by request. Build your own or make changes to source. Someone with more knowlege than I, can make this ROM even better!!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU MESS UP YOUR PHONE!!!
    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

I am not accepting donations. Enjoy!!!

Follow WatchDogs on GitHub or build your own!!

WatchDogs is a ROM I created based on LineageOS & crDroid source & dependencies and I thank them for its use. SafetyNet and CTS passes whether your rooted or not. Modules not required.

Before you begin, if you don't have the latest platform tools installed on your windows machine. Download it here:

CHOOSE ONE BUILD!!! WITH GAPPS OR NO GAPPS!!!

    Flashing Instructions

    First time installation (clean flash):

OOS 13 - F.18 firmware is required but F.20 or later is recommended

    Backup your data

Download the ROM you want, and firmware flasher for your device, listed further down on this post and place all in your platform tools folder,
Extract all the contents in platform tools, Firmware flasher in folder.

You may either adb sideload firmware with custom recovery or install via twrp. This will remove the orange warning that the device is unlocked. If you decide to flash a different ROM other than crDroid, the warning will come back.
Boot to recovery and factory reset then adb sideload

    adb sideload WatchDogs-WITHGAPPS-13.0-20230327-lemonadep.zip

    Reboot to system

reboot to recovery if you want root

adb sideload magisk.apk or adb sideload magisk.zip

    Reboot to system

NO GAPPS PACKAGE. NO GOOGLE APPS INCLUDED.

    adb sideload WatchDogs-NOGAPPS-13.0-20230324-lemonadep.zip

    Update installation:

TWRP SUPPORTS UPDATES. SIMPLY BOOT TO TWRP AND INSTALL UPDATE.

Updates can be also sideloaded with custom recovery. Updates do not appear in system updater.

    Bugs?

    Let me know.

DO NOT FLASH THE NO GAPPS BUILD WITH DIFFRENT GAPPS SEPERATELY. I WILL NOT SUPPORT OTHER GAPPS PACKAGES SO PLEASE DON'T COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT IT.

Flashed the latest build.... So far excellent.... Hats off to @TheSayaMan for regular updates to the ROM. No other ROMs updated so frequently here like yours....
I appreciate the kind words. Thank you!

If you can make a build today i can test it. I'm going back to OOS now.
I pushed a update already today. This will require some extra work and time. I will include it in my next build but it won't be today.

    Update 01/18:

Minor changes to status bar icons

Made changes to advanced color control using my wife's OP8T which works on her phone running Pixel Experience. Implemented it to work on OP9 Pro.

Long press on fingerprint scanner is still broken.
