Just a quick question and suggestion...

First this tablets strength is the t-mobile broadband, which isn't working currently....
Any ideas if that is in the works or on the back burner until the system is running smooth?

Second can the hard buttons be disabled due to the jellybean screen buttons being implemented.
I disabled them on the prior ROM, but this system folder is different than the last...

Thank you guys for all your hard work....

libhuaweigeneric-ril is on the tablet but I don't even know if the modem can work with this driver.
There are some things in the readme for libhuaweigeneric-ril that I have not looked into: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/huaweigeneric-ril/blob/cm-10.1/README

Well... how did you disable them the last time?

Thanks for your hard work on this! Giveen and Ccxxx, you guys rock. This has really brought this tablet back to life. Adding Operation Killjoy also really made a difference. Thanks ElfinJNoty and Tquarter for the suggestion and settings.

Is there a way to turn the cell phone/data portion off permanently via build.prop or something? I don't pay for data on mine, so all the cell modem does is drain battery.

Thanks again! :good:

Operation Killjoy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411161
definitely is a very useful script package which allows "entropy_on" for fluidness in otherwise laggy spots. The "dnsmasq_on" makes apps drawing content from the web quicker. "boost" drops the caches and allows you to kill the media server. The "cputuner" allows for a file to be set at launch for kernel settings(no delay due to superuser permission at system start), and is much faster than an app such as TricksterMod running after boot.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod
My settings with cputuner:

Ondemand
sio
1.2ghz max
312mhz min

My streak is almost always docked so I don't worry about battery life so much. Our AOKP builds don't appear to have any native "performance settings" built in, OKJ has been my method of choice.

The app mentioned in the OP
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.memory.manager
Has been awesome for changing oom settings, I use aggressive. Very simple but great app. Better memory management does wonders. Can actually type in all my apps without the keyboard restarting finalllly after using this on 9/20 build

Clean Master
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard
Is a good task killer/cache cleaner

Greenify(I use donate version)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
Does wonders as well, keeping apps in "hibernation" until awoken, and then puts em back to sleep after certain amount of screen off time. While hibernating the apps drain no battery and use no CPU. And unlike a taskkiller, these stay killed, don't restart by themselves and drain ya

I've got all animations turned off in developer options, and use Nova Prime as my launcher:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
With Nova transition speeds set to fast

Sorry for the run on... This is my group of stuff I combine with a theme called Hue 3.1(search xda) for my black and blue holo inverted style. The above is my suggested collection of stuff to try and find the right setup that suits you. Try these useful resources, share others you come accross , share the results.

I deleted the following .apk's from /system with no I'll effect:
Phone
Telephony
TellephonyProvider

My Greenify app was showing some mobile network/phone/SMS stuff not automatically hibernating... So I started by removing those .apk's

Guys, did you merge hw libs (and other hw stuff) with 514 version (Android 3.2)? This is the only rom which dont have screen flickering at all. Dell provided it as OTA package so it shouldnt be kernel issue (?).

Hey guys, thanks for all the work you do on this dinosaur. I kinda want to use it more as a media center for now though. Is the only way to get video like Netflix back by going back to honey comb or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hi! Thanks for your work!
I have small issue - long press on hardware HOME button is not work :(
I have noticed that but I'm not sure how it is supposed to work. A long press does not send a key code, so it is probably something we would have to set in some config/prop. I have googled a little bit some time ago but didn't really find something useful...

I think it should be working, but I'm in germany, so I can't test netflix at all unless using some proxy in the USA which I do not intend to do. The last time I tried something with the DRM'ed services was watchever.de on cyanogenmod and it worked, but I have since stopped using it so I can't test anymore either.

What's the problem?

Maybe it's the same problem I have with e.g. youtube:
Code:
D/OpenGLRenderer(22349): GL error from OpenGLRenderer: 0x505
E/OpenGLRenderer(22349): Out of memory!
Not really sure where that comes from, whether it was a youtube change or android but others have it too and for them it worked downgrading their android: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/87937-cm101-youtube-50-failure/page__view__findpost__p__1016730

Maybe dalvik.vm.heapsize=256m is a bit high.. aren't typical values 64 megabyte or so?

I haven't really looked at the streak 7 for some time now. I'll try a new build soon with some of the stuff in https://github.com/CyanogenMod/huaweigeneric-ril/blob/cm-10.1/README... Let's see if this really doesn't want to work.

W/SurfaceFlinger( 101): no suitable EGLConfig found, trying without EGL_RECORDABLE_ANDROID
W/SurfaceFlinger( 101): no suitable EGLConfig found, trying with 16-bit color allowed
E/SurfaceFlinger( 101): no suitable EGLConfig found, giving up
E/libEGL ( 101): validate_display_connection:266 error 3005 (EGL_BAD_CONFIG)
