It seems to be. Dont know why devs would post a ROM and then never update it to fix the bugs.Is this rom just dead? A functional version of this with bluetooth would be killer for a lot of us wanting oreo

Right? Like its not like this is just a lost cause. I'm no developer but it seems like these bugs could be fixed over the span of 4 months, or at the least let us know what the status is.It seems to be. Dont know why devs would post a ROM and then never update it to fix the bugs.
But what do they gain from it? They're doing this for free, they're not obligated to continue supporting it.Right? Like its not like this is just a lost cause. I'm no developer but it seems like these bugs could be fixed over the span of 4 months, or at the least let us know what the status is.

There's definitely a want for it.
Exactly I totally agree. To those acting like entitled little brats, the devs don't owe you jack, get that through your thick skulls and remember these words throughout every device forum you move on to.But what do they gain from it? They're doing this for free, they're not obligated to continue supporting it.
Is this a ROM or an experiment going on from ages ? LoL !! I'm know dev will again give a reply in angry mode as usual![]()

AOSP 8.0.0 - Honor 7x
Introduction
Welcome to our first release for the Honor 7X. At this time, the rom state is Beta.
This is AOSP 8.0, based on the Nougat firmware released for the 7X.
How to install:
- Download the rom from the Downloads section
- Wipe data from TWRP and remove encryption
- Flash the provided zip file
- (Optional) Install Gapps if you are going to use them (now's the moment)
- Reboot (it may take some time)
Known bugs:
- Camera (both of them)
- Bluetooth (intentionally disabled)
- VoLTE
How to seek help or report a bug:
As always, we need as much information as possible to be able to fix any bug you may come across, so be descriptive and supply as much detail as you can when reporting a bug, not just "wifi not work...help pls".
Finally, I just want to thank the rest of the OpenKirin team (@surdu_petru, @OldDroid) for their huge contributions and all of you for your support.
Keep in mind, this is the first release, we want to see how it's working on the rest of variants and see how to improve it. The bluetooth issue will be fixed in the next update (it's disabled by now) and the cameras will hopefully be fixed as well soon, I'll provide more details in the coming days.
P.S: If you don't have TWRP I have uploaded a basic one in the Downloads section for you to flash the rom.

Yep, just use Magisk to patch the ramdisk image then flash it.Since openkirin recommended to flash ROM via fastboot commands and no custom recovery..
I did that but I'm confused how to attain root now.. Anybody help me with it? Since I don't want to install via custom recovery..
I think I'm gonna need to patch the boot.img
