As it is you may be correct. But flashify will run recovery type flashes. And if you zip the image with meta-inf folder and correct updater-script, it might work.
True, but doesn't that option need a custom recovery? I haven't used it in years, so I don't really remember.

after many hours, i just installed tonight LineageOS Beta 5 for my huawei mate se, it says it was for honor7x but it worked on my mate

i got tried of huawei's stock OS, some apps were not working with it, i hate every manufactures stock OS, so much problems with them, they do it on purpose i think

possibly the last time i buy a huawei phone , its too complicated to install custom os's on them

but finally i have lineageOS on my phone, it'll do until i get a new phone, looking at xiaomi's

I will say that I had issues with the wifi disconnecting and reconnecting randomly so I went back to stock just rooted and it's nicer than regular stock.

LOL. Good luck with Xiaomi if you want easy flashing! Rooting is easy, but everything after that is flash the right firmware, flash the right vendor image, format data, flash the rom, flash everything again to fix the bootloop, flash eu.miui, flash the rom, format data, cross fingers, reboot to recovery, flash gapps, reboot to recovery, flash Magisk. It also appears to be impossible to tell which firmware version you're on, and they've implemented a mechanism that bricks the phone if you lock the bootloader while flashing. When they work, they're great, the hardware is top notch (I have Mi Mix 3), but if you're a flashaholic, life is not easy with them. I've also been unable to get any TWRP restore to successfully boot.
