Any chance @Zarboz or @jmz could pick up where @show-p1984 left off?
I haven't given up Oo
I'm still working on it, though pushing out something that bricks your device to the point of jtag isn't really an option is it? (This happens with an absolute certainty sooner or later)
Reason: unknown. (I have a hunch)
Fixable: unknown.
ETA: unknown.

Good Luck show-p1984 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't resist but to ask, can you make this current 3.1 phone call able?

4.x is not necessary smashing to me, but phone call would be more useful !~~~~~~ :)

or tips & direction what files to change?

Thanks !!!!!!

I haven't even begun to think in that direction. The most important thing is still stability. I also can't help you with making HC phone callable, as it's closed source (and I am not a zip hacker. I like source. But I would imagine pushing some libs + the phone apks from a similar architecture should do it)

Hello all

I am new here and want to offer my support for the HTC-Jetstream. I have seen many tablets before and this seems to have the best build quality. Its the only tablet I have ever seen that got GPS lock inside or a building sitting right next to Acer A501. The audio is also very very good.
Having said that, I would like to show my support for show-p1984 too. I think this tablet quality is too good to just drop it. Maybe, HTC want us to do that and buy a new one.
I think we should start a fund specially for this development and maintain it. This I believe would be a show that we are not just talkers. If each person gives at least 25.00, this would be a good start. I am in, if you all are. What show-p1984 is doing is hard work and we should try and also support him. Just my thoughts.

You are right that we need to be more supportive. Money and/or forum discussion can both go a long way to making this tablet be something we are all proud of. I think we all get a little disappointed when we look at our Jetstream(s) because it feels a device that did not reach its potential.

Not everyone can donate, but we can all all discuss topics to make the community stronger. Make an XDA account if you don't have one and talk about your Jetstream. Don't be afraid to post on a new or existing topic that you find important. If you can do more than talk then get involved.

I'll try to do better myself because I know that I can do more. I genuinely like this tablet!

show_p likes to work alone. at least at first that is what he said.
I speak to him on pretty much a weekly basis to see how he's doing. he got to a stage where the tablet could stay stable for 3-4-5 days and then crush. he won't release anything like that - and debugging takes a long time.
to get things going faster - alpha testers. people who are willing to let the thing crush, are able to restore it alone and are able of screening thet logs for issues. all at their own risk.
i think that nothing else will change the pace of the work.

1) Get a jetstream part dump
2) get JTAG equipment
3) familiarize yourself with it
4) crack your Jetstream open and solder some wires to the JTAG port in order to faster access it
5) test JTAG'ing it
6) Tell me if you are still interested and I will throw you a zip. Be warned: It's currently bricking the Jetstream to the point where JTAG is ABSOLUTELY necessary. It may run 4 days fine or 4 seconds. That's the reason why there is no release yet.

On the other hand:
1) Just wait patiently. :)

Hi guys,

I'm NOT buying it. This is just asking. So many JTAG boxes from US$73 up to US$240, which is the correct one? or more accurately asked, which is the trust_able one? hahahahaha.

http://s.taobao.com/search?q=jtag b....index&search_type=item&ssid=s5-e&commend=all

Hope some expert can provide the minimum requirements?

EDIT
Oooooopppppppssssss sorry found one of the answer http://www.riffbox.org/jtag-news/ri...-unbrick-imei-supercid-boot-repair-supported/

and where to buy http://www.riffbox.org/category/where-to-buy-riff-box/

@onejay09

managed to KitKat HTC_Sensation_XL running on 1.50GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574304 Could we invite onejay09 to help???

EDIT.

Actually there's open source as usual, I'm not programmer didn't hit me when writing above.

Anyway @show-p1984, hope you have time to take a look at those sources/commit/git ...... things I don't understand, and hope you managed to find the holy-grail ingredient that you need. Good luck.

The most complex keyword that onejay09 said was something about using ION worked and had to forego old_panel_driver, msm_fb something......
