I dont mean to correct everyone or be a debby downer butttt motorola hasnt lied about unlocking the bootloaders. Motorola also isnt the one a fault. Motorola promised an unlock for moto phones where the carrier allows it. Verizon is the one who is choosing to keep.the phones locked due to the over ride of the mobile hot spot. The key to there statement is where the carrier allows it. Verizon isnt allowing. We need to be petitioning Verizon not moto.

Also o. The note of its not an.excuse bc htc is unlocking there bootloaders. It is stated in the contract between verizon and moto that all unlocks and modification to the phones that are released by moto need to be approved by verizon. At least 75 percent of verizon smart phones are moto. So u need to petition verizon first not moto. Motorola is willing to release the bootloader on verizons ok if moto does it with out verizons consent its breach of contract at that point thats why there not unlocking without verizons ok

Its not that it cant work. Its we are barking up the wrong tree petition all u want at Motorola its a waste of time. Verizon holds the ok for all moto bootloaders on verizons network. So n if u wanna show verizon and drop them.as a carrier they wont care ull have to pay a 300 fee

The only other option is to push google. Bc google owns motorola. Google owns verizon simply by the o.s. if google stops supporting android o.s. on verizon network for all phones. Moto will turn to the other carriers and verizon is left with only the iphone

The bootloaders will be unlocked with ICS this has been comfirmed by a VZW employee but the release date for ICS is still up in the air
I'm so sick of hearing you say this. Do you have a link, or source? If not, it doesn't mean anything.

I know many VZW employees - they are not privy to this information. Give this little story of yours a rest.

They said they would begin unlocking bootloaders 2nd half of 2011. You cannot possibly tell me that EVERY SINGLE CARRIER WORLDWIDE has said no - they haven't started in Ireland, Canada, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, US, UK, etc. etc. etc. And where are you getting this information from even? "75 percent of verizon smart phones are moto"... what? Don't you think that would put them ahead of Samsung as Verizon is the biggest carrier by far?

First off we are addressing verizon. Even if u convince moto to unlock them they wont simply because verizon will not allow it. Do ur research.... as for the rest of the carriers. It upon request if the other. Carriers request it they will. What you dont get it even if u convince moto.to distribute the unlock tool verizon phonss will not see it. Also for.most of verizons phones the bootloader was dismissed by verizon... so you still CANT PERITION MOTROLA AND EXPECT A BOOT LOADER UNLOCK TOOL.

The majority of phones sold by verizon are moto. I kno verizon is the biggest carrier. But again were talking about contracts between verizon and moto. Moto cant release anytype of modifications with out verizons consent. Thats stated in their. Contract.

Just today alone I have tweeted them about 10 times, with no response. About 10 posts on FB, with no response. I have also copied the petition link and placed it on moto's site and every other android/ bionic/ razr page I "liked"
