Opportunity to Buy Xperia in Japan in March

My parents may be going to Tokyo in March, and I'm debating whether to ask them to pick up an Xperia. I'm on Sprint, but my fiancee is on AT&T. Right now thinking it's not worth the trouble and I should just wait for a C6606.

You cannot buy them without a contract, even paying full unsubsidized cost.

Oh well, it seems I need one with LTE frequency that works in US.

Handsets in japan are sold exclusively through the carriers. Factory unlocked phones are a totally alien concept. Any you find are grey market/parallel imports.

The first unlocked device being sold legally EVER here is the 3G Nexus 7 which went on sale last weekend.
