First of all, this is a Samsung s4 rom. Not a Poco one. Secondly this rom is actually tweaked for s4 in order to work better.

Some progress. Google pay works if accessed from the task bar, but not if accessed from the app. Maybe that's a feature and not a bug

Found it again. Hold home screen for widgets etc. Go to home screen settings. Look for on/off switch for google search bar. Bingo !!!

Google pay is working now both in app and taskbar. Nothing done by me. Looks like side has developed self repair system !!
