First of all, this is a Samsung s4 rom. Not a Poco one. Secondly this rom is actually tweaked for s4 in order to work better.

Also, what are the optimisations in LOS++ that official LOS does not know about or cannot do or haven't done?

The LOS++ have more features and customizations than Official LineageOS.
Few but useful like Safetynet by default without the need of root and modules to fix, Unlimited Gphotos, microG Face Unlock and more which you can find if u click "Features" in the ROM thread.

Yes the one you linked is the latest one.

Please use the POCO F1 section for POCO F1 related stuff. Since side closed his thread you can talk about the ROM in my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides.

Open GApps are not officially support A12L yet. But there is Unofficial builds by Recognized Contributor. You can find it in my S4 Unified Collection & Guides or directly here.
MindTheGApps it's like nano, with Google App.

Hello,
yesterday, I did another try to cleanly install that ROM together now with the new version of MindTheGApps from June.
Now everything works fine as expected, also the Google Play can install and update Apps again.

Open GApps are not officially support A12L yet. But there is Unofficial builds by Recognized Contributor. You can find it in my S4 Unified Collection & Guides or directly here.
MindTheGApps it's like nano, with Google App.

Tbh OpenGApps since A10 have very slow development etc. Don't wait for it.
There are much better alternatives like FlameGApps and NikGApps but these are only for ARM64 devices.
For ARM devices use MindTheGApps or these Unofficial OpenGApps from Recognized Contributor.

I've resurrected my old s4 due to the S21 Ultra causing repetitive strain injury due to it's weight. I wanted a light phone to use around the house for all the casual stuff like Facebook, WhatsApp, Reddit, Quora. browsing etc. I was disappointed to find the phone no longer supported some of these apps and were not available in the store. So I eventually found my way here in the hope that an updated OS would allow me to use this phone.

I have a GT-i9505, and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get ODIN working, to get TWRP (3.5.2_9-0) working and to get this ROM working ()- all within a day with no experience of this kind of stuff.

Now I have my s4 with Optimised-LineageOS-19.1-20220508-Version5.0.

The next step is apparently GAPPS, but now I am totally stuck. I've seen that in this thread that other people had this problem. I'm trying to install MindTheGapps-12.1.0-arm-20220605_111643.zip, but get an "Error 1"

I've tried other versions too, like 20220403 and even BiTGApps-arm-12.0.0-R45_signed and MicroG-arm-12.zip but they all give the same error.

My questions are these.

1. How can I get this installed?
2. Will it then allow me to get WhatsApp/Facebook/Reddit/Quora/Chrome?
3. If not, while I naturally chose the latest and greatest, is there a recommended ROM that I should use instead?

I am having the same problem as marke: lineageos 18.1 updater process ended with ERROR: 1

I have an i9507 and am using the latest official twrp from downloads section.
