The item did ship from Singapore, the fact it got here in two business days is amazing.

My only gripe is that we can't unlock the bootloader since this G4 is from a region that LG isn't supporting the unlocking of the bootloader, so lame.

What? Crap. I thought you could unlock any G4 with the model number H815. It doesn't have any carrier apps on it does it? Truly unlocked, unbranded?

It is truly unlocked, there is no carrier apps or anything on it. But it is region specific, and those of us that received the G4 from Asian sellers are not able to get an unlock code from LG because of an error on their website. We all keep getting the same rubbish. But there's bound to be a way to unlock the bootloader eventually.

Oh that's pile of ****. I'm sure it has to be an error that they will fix since it is supposed to be unlock able even if it is from Asia. Not a huge deal right now as I did not plan to unlock it just yet

I placed a pre-order from tropical_mobile on eBay since I decided the H815 model was the best choice overall, for me. They offered two day shipping as well, so it was sort of a no brainer at that point. I paid a few pennies shy of $700, but they have since significantly dropped the price down to $630, so your patience will be rewarded if you decided to wait! As their listing states, it comes with some goodies, and I thought I may as well post a few pics of said goodies in case anyone was wondering.
stupid i know but i wanted to mention i got a yellow wrist strap as well from them

I'm wondering if I should cancel my bestbuy pre-order for an ATT model and get this one. I would save about 50 bucks and get it sooner. Do you still have a warranty on it and will you qualify for the free battery and microSD card?

I am also oscillating between doing AT&T/BestBuy and this one from EBay (currently at $605, btw).
Pros for getting the H815 from tropical_mobile:
- International unlocked version
- Hopefully be bl unlockable soon
- No carrier bloat
- Will get updates before carriers push theirs
- Supposedly LG's 1-year warranty still applies

Cons:
- No returns or exchanges of any kind once the box has been opened (otherwise 20% fee), according to seller's main policy, but one of the descriptions says 30 days for any reason, paid s/h. So, which is it?
- Still don't know if it'll work on AT&T network with LTE
- After $100 gift card from BB, the AT&T ones comes out to ~$40 less
- Will not qualify for LG's battery+sdcard+charger bundle (see LG's ad, it lists accepted retailers)

I think I'll wait to see how satisfied people are with their orders, but currently I am leaning towards this international one.

You will get LTE from AT&T, it's just a matter of configuring the APN. I was only getting HSPA+ on T-Mobile until I edited the APN settings to allow 4G LTE. T-Mobile and AT&T run on the same bands and frequencies too, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Personally, each option has its pros and cons. Having had a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for the past couple of months, I've learned the importance of up to date software. The carrier phones will not be pushing out software very quickly, especially with the android market becoming as dense at it is. And with Google pushing out very relevant updates, I think it's more important than ever having up to date software.

The H815 supports AT&T LTE for sure. Bootloader unlock method will come to it in the future(it says on LG’s site that right now only the European H815 are supported and that they will gradually support other ones).

Personally, as long as these international model phones fully support AT&T’s LTE i wont buy an AT&T variant with all the crap and slow updates and all that. Screw every carrier ?

I'm not home now but check the video in my thread it shows the box with all of that info

Thanks, but you show the software info, I was more interested in the hardware info, where the model number and series are. I'm wondering if all the phones shipped from this seller are the same (shipped from singapore vs US)

On a different note, to those who ordered from Canada, how much did you have to pay for import duties and taxes?

Didn't read all four pages, but I'm also confirming that the H815 purchased on Amazon (from Quality Deals Shopping Center) does not come with an extra back. I somehow ordered the black leather which I HATE. Anyone want to trade a white ceramic cover for a black leather cover? lol.
