Hello,

I contacted LG Customer Service. I had a few questions about my G6 model and the question was about the security patch. They told me that the next update would be realeased by February. I think it's easy to conclude that this will be the Android 8.0 Oreo update. :)

You know that Customer Service has no way to know that, right? They're just a bunch of people payed to listen and answer, they have no say or even contact (mostly) with the development team, if not for some important news. Since Oreo is still in beta, they really can't know it for sure (in fact, they weren't sure).
My advice is to let it go and wait for some ufficial statement or, well, for the update.

By February doesn't mean in February. You might want to change the title cause by Fabruary means that oreo is scheduled for january :)
