I wonder if I need to go back to CRL1 to get the beta updates on my S8? I followed the link and Samsung+ updated but it doesn't say anything about beta.

So I'm having the same issues as tailgunner sort of. I am on DRL7 and cannot flash anything. Every fw I try I get an Odin error (DeviceInfo). I have booted into recovery and did a factory reset and partition wipe and still nothing. It just brings me back to phone setup but still running DRL7. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this? Why am I receiving an Odin fail Everytime? I am using newest modded Odin. I did not have this issue when flashing back from DRL5.

Reset the Odin and reboot your PC and try again.

I had a similar problem. My issue was the cable. I squeezed my cable at the USB side to make the connection a little bit tighter when I plug it in. And that worked
Another common way to get those errors is when using a USB 3 port. Only USB 2 works for flashing. Also the device should be powered off completely before booting download mode.

I just did this to my TMobile phone. home_csc means no data wipe, csc means data wipe. You WILL loose everything in your phone if you do not use home_. U1 by default will not have VoLTE, Wifi Calling, or RCS texting. Unless you flash home_att_csc, you will loose these 3 features. You must find that file from your official firmware package. OR, just don't flash any csc at all, and see what happens. You should be good without it.

The new U1 firmware is great. Very smooth. I didn't end up flashing my home_tmb_csc, because I didn't want the pink TMobile boot screen. I want an unbranded phone, don't use VoLTE.

lol I wouldn't trust that. Cable could stop working in the middle of a flash, causing corruption. Braided Usb cables from Amazon work great. Also, contrary to what someone said below, I've never had an issue with USB 3.0 ports. If I am using a 3.0 to C cable, on a 3.0 port, the flash in Odin is about twice as fast.

Here's a link to a 3 Pack of the USB 3.0 USB C cables I recommend. 3 sizes, 6ft, 3ft, 1ft. Bought this exact pack 2 years ago, zero problems. https://amzn.to/2TrN8TY

I used the patched Odin 1.13.1 from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572 which allows you to ignore model mismatch. The princecomsy Odin did not work for me.

If you're flashing from the DRL7 we had a while back, you will likely notice that when trying to boot into Download Mode by holding down Vol Down + Bixby + Power, you will get a vibration, followed by a screen that says "Upload Mode." That won't work, do not try to use it. Go to recovery first Vol Up +Bixby + Power, select "Reboot Bootloader," flash from there.

Flash U1 CRL2, download the CRL2 to ZSAB from firmware.science, and use that zip. Just like last time, I didn't even bother wasting my time copying the 1.2GB update to SD and try flashing. I just did "adb sideload CRL2-to-ZSAB.zip" so much faster.

If you need a fastboot adb kit https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754459552. What I did was renamed the update zip from firmware.science to the above name, then moved that into the adb fastboot folder. From there, Shift Right Click -> Command Prompt (or if Powershell: type cmd, hit enter), then use the adb sideload command.

Will be flashing G955U1ES5CRL2 stock file for Region ATT I downloaded from SamMobile and it has Home_CSC with the other files so maybe it will keep VoLTE??? Or as you said just Odin the AP, BL & CP files??

Not in my experience. Region just keeps LTE+, APN config, and TMobile or ATT app. I would say, skip csc for now. See what happens. If you need it, flash one from last official firmware.

Thanks man. Can I just flash CRL2 to ZSAB the update from SD card? Or do I need to adb sideload?

U1 CRL2 firmware, which one did use.

Thxs again

Used Odin 3.13.1 with files AP, BL & CP but Flash FAILED install of G955U1ES5CRL2 on my AT&T S8+. Did not put anything in CSC. I used SamFirm program to download firmware with Region ATT. So guess I will just stay with what I have on phone G955USQU5CSA4
