Because you are not deodex at all !!
I explained you also on whatsapp but you keep trying, if you mod apps, you need to be deodexed because you modding the framework, so you aint listened what i explained you on whatsapp.

It worked with Stock Oreo on XZ, but it's not working with AOSP Oreo, any ideas?

I've installed Rudy's AOSP.

Not working:

Can you please provide me with a step by step guide?.
I downloaded the zip-file and flashed with twrp recovery. I can see that you have to deodex something, but please give complete guide, thank you.
I'm using:
Xperia XZ premium G8141
Android 8.0 with Magisk and Xposed.
Rooted using XperiFIX by Storm

even after reboot?
i can only say for X, since i have tested on X

Good day.
Yes, after reboot, I tried installing the apk again and the adb command again too. The new option appears in the "screen" menu, but when I press the turn on toggle, the screen color stays the same. :(
My x compact is rooted , so I just flashed the package and it worked right away.
Is your device rooted?
Than you anyway for that finding.

You need March security patch installed. That build enables the required boolean in framework for Night Light to work.
