There were some oreo related commits in the past but the contributors stopped working on it so I really dont think that we will get oreo on this device unless @BadDaemon, @coldhans or @crpalmer have a different opinionConsidering how quiet crPalmer and BadDaemon have been on the subject, I'm doubting the possibility of a LineageOS 15 ROM. Especially since P is on the horizon.
To include me in that company is flattering, but also misleading. There were some oreo related commits in the past but the contributors stopped working on it so I really dont think that we will get oreo on this device unless @BadDaemon, @coldhans or @crpalmer have a different opinion
The link you posted doesn't work. I get a 404. I'm curious though, have you gotten it to boot? Because as I said, Android P is on the horizon, and we haven't gotten a build that boots at the very least. Do you think there is any hope at all?To include me in that company is flattering, but also misleading.I'm only a beginner myself.
I'm working on it independently, and I don't anticipate much collaboration with the LOS guys. They seem to prefer doing their own thing. You can track my work (and submit PRs if you'd like to contribute!) at https://github.com/kiwi-o.

As you can see on github, there actively working on it.
But it takes time because there many under-the-hood changes between nougat and oreo.

Alright thanks for the clarification
I really would like to contribute to it but first of all I have to get some resources on how AOSP works and stuff like that and then I have to check for problems and issues I might be able to solve with my programming skills ^^
If you have anything that could help me, I'd be very grateful
Then just write me a PM
There are two, actually. Neither of them boot.I’ve heard of some work on it, and some of the devs that worked on nougat roms ( on xda)have a rom that they’ve compiled, but it’s not on xda(?). I know the dev that made aicp rom for kiwi, is one.
Not really. There still some devs out there who are actively developing on nougat, kernels or on porting oreo to kiwi.Android Pie is out. I guess this is the end for the Honor 5X?
Keep it up, if I had a spare one, I would help.To include me in that company is flattering, but also misleading.I'm only a beginner myself.

The person who made the ROM I use (AICP) may still be working on it, but he's not on XDA.The link you posted doesn't work. I get a 404. I'm curious though, have you gotten it to boot? Don't know, but don't ask that question, you'll get negative feedback here. Don't pay attention to any post that claim there's a LOS 15 for it(don't ask in their forum, they'll cuss you out). Devs are very ego- centric, and will say don't ask, or do it yourself. I don't really care too much anymore, and will replace this with a phone that can get Oreo(or pie), soon, as this seems to be a lost cause now.
