The new Android Oreo OTA firmware looks more like the galaxy S8 theme, without any modding needed, apart from installing the zip file!
the zip file is found on the below website
[Must be on baseband ending in BRB5, check out my other post for instructions how to get to that version...]
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/OTA/Oreo/SS-G891AUCU2BRB5-to-U2CRC7-UP.zip

Attatched below are pictures of the new Oreo update, which I installed on my S7 Active, and by the way, the update has not crashed at all. [It did crash once, but that was due to me using the phone in direct sunlight, which may have caused it to overheat, but thats probably a good thing, that it didn't overheat till death]
i have gone into the home screen settings, and disabled the apps button in the bottom right, so i can swipe to view my apps. by default , there are no s8 wallpapers, but i will include the wallpaper i used below. enjoy!

i understand the photo says galaxy s7 under phone name. this is not officially released yet, so for some odd reason, the default name is galaxy s7 rather than galaxy s7 active.

As mentioned above, how's the battery life and stability so far? I haven't got my device rooted or anything, how would I go about updating to OREO, should Iflash the file through ODIN? Do I need to be on a specific version of Nougat before upgrading?

Thanks

Before upgrading you need the build number G891AUCU2BRB5, then you have to flash the Oreo rom using stock recovery and adb sideload.

I'd like to know about performance issues with Oreo on the S7 active. There is an article that says there's a noticeable slowdown and some glitches with the camera. Are these isolated glitches or does anyone upgrading to Oreo find the same thing?

hey... with the "swipe to unlock" on oreo does it still appear after you set a timer too keep your phone unlocked during activity?

one og my gripes with Nogat is the swipe to unlock never goes away....
