@ arjun.arora, can we flash this mod via TWRP or only by manually copying the files??

Last time I tried manually I got bootloop and I could not allow permissions even with root explorer.

You have to manually place file in system/vendor/etc.
I copied the file with Es file explorer pro, set the permissions (r-w-r-r) and rebooted and all was well.

For me x-plore does the job every time. Just change root access to superuser + mount writable in settings. After that just copy and replace the file, you need not change the values.

It's very strange, even after following the instructions 100% there is little to no difference at all in sound increase.

It's although Sony limited the output. From 70% to 100% the volume is the same, not any louder.

Also, the top speaker is far lower than the bottom. This is not the fault of arjun but Sony, the speakers are not balanced! both top and bottom speaker should be equal. It feels like the top speaker is 20% lower than the bottom. So easy to test, play any song or video and use your ears to listen to top/bottom speaker, you will see the top speaker is far lower. :( :(

Yes, the output level from the speakers is different. I have a Z3+ too, it sounds much louder and crispier than the XZP with similar mod values.

Might be the reason why Sony impremented the sound limitation in the first place. Pretty sure it can be tweaked with XML edits like what they did on the Nexus 5X.

If you install Viper4Android > Convolver > ON > Dolby Surround & Pro Logic & LFE.irs, you'll get a fuller sound out of the speakers.

WARNING: Default output is VERY LOUD so make sure you go to the Master Gate Limit and set it to -10 or -6db. You will damage your speakers if you don't.

If you need the .irs file download it from this link: https://github.com/Codejune/Viper4Android_EQ/blob/master/Kernel/Dolby Surround & Pro Logic & LFE.irs

Thanks Patrick for the advice. Could you please point me in the right direction. Where can I get the correct working Viper4Android for Oreo? Manual setup or must flash through recovery?

I am scared to get bootloop which is why I ask. I looked on some forums and many people got bootloop.

Normally I am good with this stuff, but I must admit, I could not get Viper4android working. The driver status always showed as no working. Any deets you have on install would be awesome. I even tried the Oreo install instructions for the OP3.

Same. :( I did a lot of reading and many people are having issues getting Viper4Android working on Oreo. Same issues as us. Either not detecting drivers or bootloop. I also heard the developer for Viper4Android has stopped any further development which is one reason why people are struggling to get it working with Oreo. The latest version only works for Nougat.

Reason being the speakers need calibration and also equalizer needs to be adjusted. That's the only way to get better, louder and equal speakers.

Unfortunately Sony was lazy and did not bother. Also with regards to getting dual audio output from both speakers when using loudspeaker for voice calling apps/voice calls, it will also need editing. As of now when using loudspeaker the lower speaker is working but not the top.
