No, those are test builds, just download the complete img and then flash magisk for root.
There are two files : complete_twrp_ramdisk.img and twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img
In first post they say to flash twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img
And should I use fastboot flash recovery xxx. Img or fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk. Img?
There are too many different tuto about how to root and all is different

Edit : if I'm not mistaken now In Oreo the recovery change to recovery_ramdisk right?
So to root I have to use complete_twrp_ramdisk.img but what is the other files for? twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img.

I've had way better compatibility (adb, full decrypt, mtp, etc) with twrp_p10_lite_0.3.img from this thread. I couldn't get any of the TWRP versions listed in this thread to work fully. 2 wouldn't boot and the other two lacked adb, mtp, and decrypt.
You don't have any issue with this version of Twrp?
And which version is it? 3.1.1?

3.2.1. Absolutely zero issues.
If TWRP Mate P10 Lite work for Honor 7X, TWRP for Mate 10 Lite will work too for Honor 7X ?
Because Mate 10 Lite is a replica of the Honor 7X, these two phone are same except for the wifi and camera.
Is there a safe way to know or test...

complete_twrp_ramdisk.img

What about imgmount file

---------- Post added at 04:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 AM ----------

Requirements:
Unlocked Honor 7x : See this[But don't flash twrp from anywhere else before backing up your device. Use twrpimgmount_ramdisk for backing it up first.]

Download:
TWRP Complete Backup
TWRP Img mount not tested yet

Instructions:

Flash twrpimgmount_ramdisk.img through fastboot

Press and hole both volume + power on to boot to erecovery OR volume up + power on to boot to twrp (i don't know which combination is of which one) i suggest you to flash twrp to erecovery_ramdisk partition using twrp too.

Backup/restore and flash image functions are tested for system/vendor/product/version/cust/oeminfo/recovery/recovery2/boot rest of them are not tested by me but should work.

Note: It is suggested to make a complete backup in memory card before rooting your Honor 7x.

After backing up, flash TWRP Complete Backup Ramdisk

Do reflash twrp, use the "twrp-complete-ramdisk" or "image-backup" version
Please tell me the full command

Thank you. I am using the Mate Se (BDN-L34) and the tutorial worked fine for me. I now have TWRP with Magisk installed

fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk complete_twrp_ramdisk.twrp
fastboot reboot did not work, I had to power off manually then press the volume up, volume down and power at the same time to boot into TWRP. Then flash magisk.

Thank you for the help
